Can I get promoted to manager without a certification?

Started my first job out of college ~1month ago and am only at around 50% utilization. Before I fully ramp up, what would be some good skills or certs to work towards? I’m working for my firms management/tech practice and am also open to expanding my coding skills (currently pretty basic)

Any recs for insightful and well written books on entrepreneurship? Friend is trying to launch his own startup so I’m thinking of sending him a relevant book as part of a thank you gift

As I'm moving to a new role in a small company, I have a doubt about my salary structure like the Basic salary part is only 20,000 while my take home is 62k after all deductions.

I'm concerned because the leave encashment & other things totally depends on the basic salary.

Are there not any rules for the Basic salary to be at a certain % of CTC or it depends totally on the company?

Also PF deductions they are offering only 1800 p.m but considering 20000 basic it should be 12% of 20000 right?

Well I recently told a guy I have been seeing I have HSV-2. We have not yet been physical but it’s been heading that direction. Man I hate this part - waiting to see what his response will be after he researches and talks to his doctor. I’m on daily meds which help reduce transmission risk. Since it is a year early if i don’t get promoted this round I know it’ll come mid year but I do expect a good salary increase still without the promo. I have an offer for a Director of IT Compliance role. Small/mid size company and in MCOL, I have +12 YOE. Base salary in the offer is 160k and annual bonus 20-45k (depends on company performance). Any thoughts on the offer? I’m inclined to ask for a base of 170k since not in rush to change jobs.
