I think I've got good instincts about whether someone is lying, but that's not really enough to be able to accuse someone of lying. There have been times I've suggested to someone that they're wrong, or mistaken. But I've never actually called someone out for lying, even when I suspected it. That would be a big step and would require some real proof.

With me, I guess it depends how good a liar they are, but I certainly wouldn’t trust my instincts totally.

I like to think of myself as a good judge of character but sometimes I am absolutely bamboozled by someone’s lies
For the most part I can pretty much tell when someone is lying to me. Most people have some sort of tell and when you know it, you know they are lying. I have totally called someone out for lying to me before.
Usually, I will let facts speak for themselves. If lying is tolerated/encouraged/disregarded, then maybe it's not a good cultural fit.
On occasions, colleagues would say I didn't share/they didn't receive information XYZ, or they would disagree/talk trash on a joint project. I would just re-share the meeting notes, action pounts and any feedback/inputs they'd given. Similarly, people would exaggerate their experience or mastery of a subject, only for the team to end in a difficult position whenever practical application of the alleged experience or knowledge was required. Again, facts will speak for themselves. I wouldn't actively call people out, but I would put my dissent or evidence-based suggestions in writing, for reference, and should problems arise further down the line.
