I have a virtual interview tomorrow through Teams - 1) what is appropriate to wear for a video interview? Should I treat it as an in person and wear a blazer? 2) I’ve used teams plenty on my work computer but never on my personal computer/through my personal email - any ideas on how to make sure it works? And 3) just any advice/tips in general, first interview since college!

A dress shirt and blazer will do. Your interviewer will most likely be in there pjs. Do a practice call to make sure your video and audio work

like

Anything seen on camera should be treated as an in person interview. Face, hair, and attire. Professional blouse or dress with blazer is perfect, you could wear pajamas or any bottoms as they will not be seen.

Wear a button down shirt and blazer like you would an actual interview. Call a friend and test out your connection and Audio/video. **make sure your camera/yourself is in the center of the screen, not looking down or looking up; practice looking at camera, not yourself in the screen. Perhaps put a picture or sticky note behind camera to remind yourself to look there. Be confident and excited for the interview. Good luck.

1) Wear a blazer, yes. 2) How old is your computer? Teams works great on my work computer but not so well on my 10-year-old MacBook, so I use my iPhone when I need to use teams for a personal call. You can also use the “meet now” function ahead of time to start a solo meeting and make sure your camera works and microphone is picking up your voice. 3) I know it’s easier said than done, but pretend it’s in-person. Be mindful of your body language even if they can only see your face (be engaged in the conversation). Keep your background neutral/clean. Make sure you ask questions. But remember that you’re interviewing them as much as they’re interviewing you. You’ve got this!

I don’t think that would look weird. Maybe use earbuds/AirPods so you can leave one ear free? It might just be me but I feel like doing that gives me a better idea of my true volume and keeps me from speaking too loudly or quietly.

I used my work laptop lol

No! They send you a guest link! Like your not actually adding them to teams. Kinda like when we’d invite clients to a teams call…. So all you have to do is type your name in :)

Business up top, underwear for bottoms!

Thanks everyone!!!

Hi, has anyone had this before: been a month sense interview, my online status never changed so I sent a follow up email to the supervisor, within an hour instead of getting a response my online status changed from consideration to pending decision. Is that bad? The hiring manager never responded to me just updated online status, is that a NO? I am so confused and never seen an online status get updated right after a follow up email.

Hi all,
I graduated during Covid with a double major in business administration and business management with a minor in marketing and magically ended up in sales because I needed a job. I’m about to take a data analytics course to make an attempt to break into that field. I’m currently looking for a mentor to help guide me during this time. Also, if anyone is willing to look over my resume and give me tips on how to make it more presentable for recruiters in DA that would be very helpful. Thanks

Hi everyone, I left Big 4 a year ago (Senior) to join a healthcare company. I currently focus on acquisition due diligence and integration work, and I really enjoy it. I have a great work life balance but not sure if I want to focus on healthcare. There’s a Financial Due Diligence manager opening at PWC and was wondering if I should apply. However, I’m worried about going back to big 4 my work life balance will go downhill. I’m also concerned if this path is too niche.
