Congrats no one cares
Move to Germany then
Willing to bet you’re not a CPA in the US bc this is a wild opinion
Where does it guarantee an instant promo for manager ?
Germany. Every big 4 does it. You take the exam as a senior.
I'm sure German accountants auditors get paid way more then...
Well come take our exams & then give your opinion. Do you guys also need 150 credit units? I didn't personally think getting my CPA was a cake walk.
Have you ever heard about CA qualification from India. Here you need to go through 2 levels which contains 2 groups each and each group contains 4 exams (16 exams). Post clearing first level, you need to go through minimum 3 years of mandatory training under a registered public accounting firm before being even eligible to sit for 2nd level.
Than comes the real challenge where each group (4 total) has individual passing % of around 10-15% leading to final % for entire curriculum to be less than 1%.
Honestly, I won't be exaggerating if I say CA, India to be most difficult & rigorous professional qualification exam in the world for Accountancy.
I’m with a big 4; I did a rotation in Bangalore. I’ve seen enough.
No one in the us thinks cpa is the hardest exam. That is clearly the cfa exam. Don’t come to work in the us if all you want to do is put us down with criticism
Compared to the US, Germany is a joke. What’s your point?
You don’t seem to realize the bigger picture. Germany is an apprentice model and you start working in college and don’t even need to be an accounting major. Only after a long apprenticeship and other requirements including work experience can you actually take the exam. A lot of Europe is like this which among other downsides is why they get paid a lot less than “new hires” in the US
good grief - yeah right - pass as a staff and instant promo to manager
You cannot take the exam as a staff. The law states, that you need three years of experience. By then, you would be senior
Ok, what’s your point?
Did you sit for the CPA exam in the US?
I would love to see some evidence to substantiate this. Pretty bold claim to make based off of what I can only assume is a buzzfeed article you read.
Coach
Or, is it a joke how hard the exam is in Germany? Our exam structure is pretty extensive and most accountants would say they use maybe 1% of the material. Are you using .1%?
We already have enough issues finding bodies, don’t need to make it any harder by adding in work experience time.
