My guess is OP works for Deloitte
You literally handed her an HR complaint in a handbasket with proof. Rough.
People are so soft. Why is it bad to kindly alert someone that they stink?
E1, I’m just kind of shocked you wouldn’t want to know if you smell bad

This is a literal HR issue and one that they usually manage lol. Like HR will literally have this conversation for you.

Tried to be as nice as possible. She thanked me and said she was grateful in the email. But in person she never talked to me again and always avoided me/acted as if she didn't know me. Maybe she hates me. It pained me cause I really liked her. Sometimes I wonder where she is now. I knew the risks but I'd rather her correcting this and hating me than people making fun of her behind her back. That's all. That's my confession.

I don’t think she hated you I think she was so embarrassed and self conscious that she never wanted to face you

It happened to me too during an internship. A senior and my HR representative took me in a room to tell me there had been comments. I know the intention was good and have been splurging myself with deodorant since then but I’m way too ashamed to talk with them ever again

I like where your heart is and there was a time I would have done the same. But now I know (and for next time to you) that HR is supposed to handle these things so you don’t have to!

To be clear; it has to be a pervasive, consistent smell that is so bad it’s distracting. Not just a little bad.

Okay wtf……..
Okay here’s a doozey of an “HR” experience for you, during Covid i got sent to an auto assembly plant…. While I was there leadership tried to limit the amount of closed doors bc of transmission via opening/closing doors.
One of the doors that was deemed “a high germ point” and had the door open was the mens restroom right across the hall from my cubicle………. I heard noises I never wanted to hear and see who made those noises come out of this restroom…..
During one of our standups, I asked if we could ya know, close the door.. and move the trash can to be next to the door, so after we wash our hands we could use the towel and open the door from inside the bathroom, and then you could use your foot or shoulder from the outside.
And the response I got from the man who had the second loudest shits was “oh when I was in the army in Panama we used to have to shit and piss by a tree near our site”
I said “but we’re in an office and have doors….” And my manager and everyone was quiet for like 20 seconds. Then they just continued the meeting and the door stayed open for another 2 months then eventually it was closed.
People that took our temperatures cuz of Covid were near the bathroom too and they regularly would call my department nasty cuz they also heard these noises. And then my whole team never wanted to work with the delivery guy cuz one time someone heard him not washing his hands lol.
Did she smell better afterwards?

She did. Was happy for her & that she wasn't the butt of jokes anymore..... even though she would no longer speak to me.
