Anyone constantly fighting to stay sane? I’d like to believe everyone is the same as me. But my life is literally up and down from highs to lows. And that instability coupled with many failed relationships has me always anxious. Please understand, I don’t want advice, I have gotten plenty. Just want to know how many relate and how you personally deal? 🙂

Any tips for hard launching partners on social media? For context, I’ve (Indian American female) been dating my white American boyfriend for 3 years and we just got engaged after two years of convincing my parents. They are very happy and excited now, but I’m scared shitless about being ostracized / judged by my extended family and Indian community in the US once I “let the cat out of the bag” on the engagement news. I want to be proud and confident about this but could use some moral support.

At my uncles wedding in Madrid I remember lying down on the grass in the courtyard after their first dance and crying, my Dad came and saw me, laid down in his suit beside me and asked what was wrong.

Why do we always tell people “Be the best version of yourself before starting a relationship?”
I feel this is wrong…first, if you’re someone who constantly wants to be better, this doesn’t work. Also, what happens when you’re going through things and you’re not the best version? What happens is…the going gets tough and then one person leaves the other.

Confused if parents want schools to reopen or not? I read so many posts here about how difficult it is to work full time and manage kids’ at-home schooling (I can’t even imagine!) so would assume that means parents want to reopen, but at the same time keep seeing a ton of backlash from parents in states who are pushing to reopen due to safety reasons. I work for a late stage(ipo) start up, earlier this year we were acquired & since then they got rid of our yearly bonuses and gave us an ESOP grant.
2 RIFs later we are almost bare bones. Since we are coming up on our usual yearly evaluations many of us assumed (with multiple conversation from our managers) that pay raises and promotions were due.
In a recent All hands we found out that this year there will be no pay raises nor promotions based off merit. Is it time to jump ship?

Slowly coming to the realization that I’ll be single forever for personal reasons - 40 M no kids. Trying to figure out how to take care of myself in my 60s-90s and what to do now to be as self sufficient as possible. Any advice would be welcomed.

Just found out that my favorite aunt, who claimed I was her “favorite” niece, chose to leave all her valuables to her other two nieces who never visited or called her once in the last ten years. My aunt passed away suffering from cancer last year and didn’t have her own kids. I was there by her side throughout her battle. I still wish I had done more, made her life easier. I probably sound petty, but a part of me is forcing me to re-evaluate every interaction I ever had with her.
