Considering renegotiating my compensation at a small PI firm. Base is $105k plus 7.5% of ATTORNEY'S FEES generated, doubling to 15% at $700,000 generated. While I initially saw this as a favorable arrangement, I now realize that I need to settle $2.1M to reach 15%. No extra percentage for cases I bring, likely due to being the sole PI attorney among partners focusing on Workers Comp and Social Security.

How long is too long to try to push back a start date? Getting a formal offer early next week but trying to keep that big law bonus if possible. Firm pays out bonuses Dec 30 & I have a vacation scheduled Dec 19-23 (and was planning on working remotely the week after too). Ideally want to get EOY bonus or negotiate for a signing bonus but is it too much to push for signing bonus and those weeks off? I'm open to working remotely those two weeks but know that may not be the best when I start.
