Pros:
They use google suite
Student loan repayment
They don’t have mercury
Cons:

Still public accounting - you will be overworked and underpaid
Tiering doesn’t affect promotions and vice versa At least not per policy.
Adding to the above..
Significant discount on phone

Friendly, team culture,

Senior milestone award to resort in CA

Highly agree with P7 and P8 above. Love my job. No scarcasm. Always feeling challenged and learning new things.
They pay your phone bill (not the phone itself). Senior has vacation of 22days, unlimited sick day.
Firm shutdown July and December
Firm pays phone bill directly
22 days PTO at Senior
G Suite
Student Loan Paydown
Digital Lab money can add up
PowerUp money can add up
Firmwide access to tools like Alteryx, Tableau, UiPath
Firm subsidizes GymPass at 66%
Idk I think I’d rather have these in addition to the reasonable comp I’m already paid. Knowledge in Alteryx/UiPath/Tableau makes you a lot more marketable. Reach master status and leverage that into a new role with better comp.
There are many people who are experts in Audit/Tax, not so many with intermediate-level skills in Audit/Tax and experts in Alteryx/UiPath/Tableau.
Passing your CPA tests and working for 1-3 years puts you in a pool with over ~1m other people with comparable skills. Why should you be compensated so much more than you are, right now?
Seems like easy economics to me. I still believe Audit/Tax is a good career path in the long term, but low-medium comp for the first 10 years (or until expert) makes sense. If you want more now, differentiate yourself. Thoughts?
So much flexibility in the job. Since we are on google, I have much more say on how I work (within reason). Ton of perks like gympass, calm, virginpulse, random contest for free money.
I’m late to this party, but also considering a jump to PwC. Are there any new director/new manager milestone events? How many times a year (pre COVID) did you guys travel for training?
New Managers receive 20% of new salary if they were an associate at the firm (including experienced associate hire). Not sure what percentage is received if you come in as a senior.
Senior Managers/Directors receive sabbatical milestone. I don’t know if there’s a years requirement.
