I think that certain people have natural traits which make them more likely to become leaders, but nobody is born a perfect leader. It takes a lot of learning and experience to become a good leader. But I am not sure if everyone can learn the skills equally. I think some people just have personalities that are more fit for leadership
Good leadership is shaped. Good leadership is synonymous with confidence (not arrogance), humility (not insecurity) and we all are thriving when we are our own best leader. But its hard to inherently do without examples mentors and a practice that suits you.
I think in general people have things that they are naturally good at, whether it’s being analytical, an artist, leader, whatever. But there is no reason you can’t work towards something either. My theory is people that were “naturally good at things” got better at them because they weren’t discouraged for not being good at the first try.
I don't think anyone is born with leadership traits. But nurturing definitely plays a part. A child who develops self-confidence and self-esteem will be well on their way. Conversely, I think children who get off on the wrong foot are definitely disadvantaged when it comes to leadership potential. And, of course, as one enters adulthood and beyond you can be shaped to be a leader.
It may be over-broad, but I have always believed that a person can be taught everything they need to know to become a good follower, but you can't learn how to lead. If a follower is put into a leader role, he becomes a mentor, role model, friend, confidante, but will always be a follower first.
Hmm I definitely think that some people are born with traits that make them a better leader than others but I do think alot can be taught. A lot of great qualities of a manager have to be learned along the way.
I agree that it can be easier for some but most of the truly inspirational leaders I’ve worked for have invested a lot of time in learning how to be a leader. They have tended to be quite humble about not getting it right all the time and spend what can seem a disproportionate amount of time really getting to know their people.
