EHR vs ERP consulting in the health space, what are the major differences between the two? Specifically I would be working with Cerner. Is one more technical, interesting, or niche than the other?

I currently work in Healthcare as a respiratory therapist for 10 years. I have been at my job, currently, for a little over 5 years. Alongside my bachelors degree I also have a masters degree in healthcare administration. Although, I am happy with my current position as a respiratory therapist, there seems to be not a lot career growth with where the department I currently work in within my healthcare system. I am wondering what doors/opportunities I have if I were to utilize my masters degree?

Currently in industry at 135k salary, poor healthcare, amazing wlb, a month of parental leave, work is okay.

Took 2 years off and built a health & wellness coaching platform for my wife (medical provider). Then, the last 2.5 yrs, have been a top producer in Saas sales as a senior account executive. I’ve been told I would make a great COO someday and I’m ready to take the next step into leadership. Who/what should I be targeting next?

There’s no reason you have to put up with a job you hate. I spent many years working in a toxic environment with a boss who gossiped and lead through fear. He wasn’t really much of a leader but basically a foreman. And he could make my existence miserable. I admit that it wasn’t easy to find another job but the bottom line is: trust your guts. If you feel something is wrong it’s because it probably is. Don’t second guess yourself. Look for options and and fight for your mental health.

I’m a technical consultant but sick of the low pay and bad benefits at SI firms. I have some opportunities at Big 4 with better pay & benefits. Will it derail my career to move to Big 4?
