Currently a FP&A Analyst for a Gov Contractor remote. I recently received a really good offer remote as a Sr. Cost Analyst for a non-profit Gov Contractor. The pay is 20k more than what I am making now and more secure however I am a little wary of being pigeonholed to the nonprofit sector where the pay bumps are not nice, I have never worked for a non profit before but I am going to learn a LOT with this new role. Thoughts on if this is a good move? is there growth beyond non profit?

Honestly make the jump, it’s a pay increase and will give you more marketable knowledge for you to make another jump to a higher paying company, you don’t have to stay non profit

Concur with the last poster.

Do it. The experience will enrich you. I came to learn more regarding on-the-ground experience when I worked with non-profit orgs. I couldn't have earned that experience working in gov't. You'll be surprised how wide non-profit networks offer.

Have you ever taken a career slow down? I am feeling burnt out from COVID and the incremental responsibilities thrown my way over the last 5+ years. I feel like my health has deteriorated. I like my company, but I want to do less. I don’t need to be a HR Director, CHRO, etc. With a career slowdown, I am prepared for a lower compensation and would want decent benefits. Any lessons learned or success stories about career slowdowns?
