@KPMG: Booz allen has more levels than most other firms.
Consultant < sr consultant < associate (OP) < lead associate < sr. associate < principal
Manage equivalent is something between lead/senior. Other Booz Allen people can weigh in here but I think OP would basically be moving to an identical role to what he has now in the hierarchy.

Booz Allen vs. PwC
Money- PwC. 5% + possible bonus
Brand- Booz Allen (assuming it's Federal).
Career Growth- Booz Allen.
You say you have a network and that things are going well. You'll be starting over at PwC. Given what you've said lead associate may take another year. Manger at PwC will probably take 3.
Location/travel- Tie
Team - Tie. It's the same work.
Figure out whether the money is worth the risk. I know I wouldn't do it under your circumstances. But you can always shop around and see if you can get the dollar amount high enough to justify the jump.

Do it. It'll get you more $ and more leverage for your career (going commercial is easier at Pwc at bah; I worked at both...and assuming you are federal at BAH)
A 5% base increase? Wait out the 7 months at BAH to make Lead then move on

SA1 thinks he should be a manager. To bad little boy, prob some no skilled deck building ass who got promoted to SA and is to lazy to become an SME.
Depends on your current trajectory. If you switch, you'll likely get a pay bump, but it will probably take a few years to develop a network and strong business case for Manager.
If it's the same team and a roughly equivalent position presumably also in DC then you should only go if your network sucks. You'll make lead associate at Booz Allen far faster than it'll take you to get to manager at PwC. It's going to be similar or identical work. Why take the risk?

What's wrong with working in DOD practice?
Just bc you have a TS doesn't mean you'll do interesting work. Quality of life gets shittier the higher your clearance. I had a TS SCI and worked in an underground, windowless, secured room and the project wasn't interesting. Everyone's experience is different, I only have one perspective.
Federal, SA1. That is certainly a concern, PwC1. I have a good reputation on my team, but it doesn't look like I'm being promoted this cycle. However, steps are being taken to position me for promotion mid-year.
What're you weighing as the factors? What's the pay now vs. the offer? What're the teams/projects?
There's not much to advise without more info. Are you going to make lead associate soon? Are you happy where at Booz Allen?

Offer is 5% base pay increase plus performance bonus (which is not a thing here). Current team/project is good, but the proposed team and project sound good too. Slightly longer commute. Hoping to make Lead Associate in the next ~7 months.
