Currently work as an Ops Manager for Amazon and interviewing for a few roles - internally as project manager non-tech and externally as Management Consultant at a top firm. I genuinely do think I'd find the work as MC engaging, less certain about the PM one.

Debating if it's worth while to take the consulting gig if end objective (5 year plan) is a remote job that I find engaging.

Would appreciate thoughts from people in similar situations and how you navigated it.

Real Talk: everyone complains about how many apps they send in and how many interviews don’t pan out in product. I just landed my 2nd product role in 2 years with pretty minimal interviewing. I wasn’t interviewing with or looking for a role at a FAANG or the latest greatest almost unicorn but I know what I want. I don’t think I’m great at interviewing but overall (even outside of product) I’ve gotten offers with not that much work tbh. What’s your experience here?

I'm applying for colleges and loans right now. How much is too much? Like what level would you say a manageable loan would be at (50k? 100k?) ideally career wise after college I'll be making 90-120k a year so I'm willing to get a loan but not one that will run me over. How much was your loan and would you recommend less? I'm determining schools partially based on this, thank you.

Hey guys, do you have a knack for planning stuff. You may have a hidden gift for Project/Program Management. The skill sets needed are similar to planning a move or a vacation. Those include pre-planning activities, budgeting, collaboration, negotiating etc.

Recruiter lied about interview process and job type. First interview goes well and interviewer tried to schedule me for in-person interview first thing next morning. I tried to push off into next week and was told it wouldn’t work with timeline. Everything was supposed to be remote, should I keep it moving and go somewhere else?

I am waiting for my dream company to be out of a hiring freeze for a dream role. It should happen in the new few months, but that’s not guaranteed. I also am interviewing for another role that would be good for me, but I’m not as excited as the dream role.

I’m nervous I’m going to get this other role, then the dream one will open up again, then I’ll burn bridges by leaving. How awful would it be if it happens that way - I go join Company A for the good role for a few months then move again?

My first job out of school (Econ/Finance Bachelors, no advanced degree or CPA) was in very niche tax consulting. Struggling to find outs. I’m curious to hear some feedback on this: my boyfriend & I are both trying it “level up” our careers and we’ve had the discussion about experience vs a college degree. I have a college degree, but various type and levels of experience and he doesn’t have a degree (and makes literally 3 times as much as me) but has 7+ years of experience in one specific field. I truly believe that experience goes further than a degree but he’s convinced it will be harder for him to find a job w/o a degree.

Some advice needed. I’m pretty young in my career. 1 year at Enterprise Rental Management 1 year at ADP and currently doing commercial real estate. I have my MBA in Strategic Planning (not a top school). Is it worth pursuing a career at google or Microsoft or should I wait a few years due to experience? Or is there any sales or product management job that is worth it?

I've been in real estate title insurance for 15ish years, but just finished my BS in accounting, because I realized if I'm going to have a desk job, I'd rather have the opportunity to make more money and not grow old with a magnifying glass and a dusty old plat map. Plus, I like accounting better.

Any tips from anybody else who made the switch to accounting later in life? Do my prior career soft skills give me as much as a boost as I hope they do?

Official job hunt starts soon.
