Currently work as an Ops Manager for Amazon and interviewing for a few roles - internally as project manager non-tech and externally as Management Consultant at a top firm. I genuinely do think I'd find the work as MC engaging, less certain about the PM one.
Real Talk: everyone complains about how many apps they send in and how many interviews don’t pan out in product. I just landed my 2nd product role in 2 years with pretty minimal interviewing. I wasn’t interviewing with or looking for a role at a FAANG or the latest greatest almost unicorn but I know what I want. I don’t think I’m great at interviewing but overall (even outside of product) I’ve gotten offers with not that much work tbh. What’s your experience here?
I'm applying for colleges and loans right now. How much is too much? Like what level would you say a manageable loan would be at (50k? 100k?) ideally career wise after college I'll be making 90-120k a year so I'm willing to get a loan but not one that will run me over. How much was your loan and would you recommend less? I'm determining schools partially based on this, thank you.
Hey guys, do you have a knack for planning stuff. You may have a hidden gift for Project/Program Management. The skill sets needed are similar to planning a move or a vacation. Those include pre-planning activities, budgeting, collaboration, negotiating etc.
Recruiter lied about interview process and job type. First interview goes well and interviewer tried to schedule me for in-person interview first thing next morning. I tried to push off into next week and was told it wouldn’t work with timeline. Everything was supposed to be remote, should I keep it moving and go somewhere else?
Can you work from an alternate location (CA) which is not a part of the original approval (CO) during work from home?

I’m interviewing for a SPM- Tech but have never coded though worked with engineering teams. If I prepare for the leadership principles, would that be enough since not sure how much technology I can cover in 2 days. Please share any insight on how technical can this initial 1-hour long interview get? Amazon
I am waiting for my dream company to be out of a hiring freeze for a dream role. It should happen in the new few months, but that’s not guaranteed. I also am interviewing for another role that would be good for me, but I’m not as excited as the dream role.
I’m nervous I’m going to get this other role, then the dream one will open up again, then I’ll burn bridges by leaving. How awful would it be if it happens that way - I go join Company A for the good role for a few months then move again?

Do you feel like your sales/marketing team are on your side?
I don't know if it's my company or what but often times it feels like they're just selling to sell w/o consulting with video & what's feasible. Often times I find AMs copying & pasting word for word correspondence between video & client w/zero input or expertise. They rarely push back on client or manage them properly. I'm starting to get burnt out (I'm a FT producer/director)
Considering switching to a hybrid or fully WFH position, does anyone here have a role like that? What are some of the pros/cons?

I've grown tired of the agency world and want to move over towards client side/marketing in house. I've only had recruiters from either agencies or staffing agencies reach out to me on Linkedin for roles I'm trying to move away from. Any tips on how to pivot out of the agency world into the client side? Should I need to update my LinkedIn to be more specific for client roles?

What is the ideal turn around time to hire for Tech FTE roles e.g DevOps Engineer, Solution Architect, Technical Delivery Manager…
Any thought on SVB Leerink TMT? They poached the entire UBS tech I think. It seems like a brand new group and the recruiter said to me that it would be a great opportunity but I am curious to hear your thoughts about joining a new group. Thanks!
How do you determine zakat? What percentage of Total savings and I have a house and I receive rental income and pay mortgage? How do I determine the zakat on it
Would you feel comfortable telling HR that your service line’s culture sucks and name the individuals who cause it? Or is a better approach saying it’s the leadership in general creating a negative and toxic culture? How effective are these conversations really? Trying to assess if there’s any point in bringing this up. Obviously HR works for the company and an employee sharing their thoughts on the unsupportive, cold leaders could bite me in the long run.
I have almost 9 months of experience in the field of Data Engineering. I have some experience in Sql and Microsoft Azure.

Is it possible to get Project Manager role without having any certifications? If so, where?
People are calling me a fool but there was no other option.
I have more than 2.5 years of experience working with a Digital Marketing Agency in Sales and now want to shift to a SAAS / Tech organization in sales. Due to toxic culture have already resigned even in this pandemic and hunting for a new job. I am skilled in B2B Sales, Negotiation, rapport building & consultative selling.
I'll be grateful if you may guide/refer me which might help me to land for my next opportunity.
My first job out of school (Econ/Finance Bachelors, no advanced degree or CPA) was in very niche tax consulting. Struggling to find outs. I want to stay in consulting—would love strategy or even broader tax strategy but continue to get shut down during interviews. What firms/roles could serve as accessible ways out of my niche industry? Paying for an MBA is not an option at the moment, sadly.
Anyone work in an Enterprise Portfolio Management Office (ePMO) on here? I've worked in generic/specialist support and management roles across a couple of industries for +9 years. Has anyone transitioned out of this type of work into anything other than project management (no appeal to me)? Interested in others journeys. Thanks.
What's a very good career path that is very rewarding financially for stem non-tech Masters grad?
I’m aware HR isn’t your friend . But is it wise to bring a discriminatory situation to them just to keep a paper trail? I had a meeting with HR and they weren’t any help of course and very rude and negative. I made sure to write everything discussed during our meeting down. Honestly I’m thinking about going on STD leave because my anxiety and stress has been through the roof . Thinking about going to the psych ward to escape for a few days lol
I work in a retail finance setting and have worked in a retail field either in department stores or in banking. I have about 8YOE in Leadership/Management roles. I would love to move over to the corporate side either in a trainer or human resource role. I’ve met with an enrollment advisor for a university to complete my bachelors and possibly go after an MBA as well. How difficult is it to go from a client-facing role to a corporate role?
Hey 🐟, need some advice:
I am a business operations consultant with 4 YOE and ex-Big4 consulting. I currently work for a smaller boutique firm and though I like it,I want to eventually move into program management and out of consulting. Any tips or suggestions?
I’m curious to hear some feedback on this: my boyfriend & I are both trying it “level up” our careers and we’ve had the discussion about experience vs a college degree. I have a college degree, but various type and levels of experience and he doesn’t have a degree (and makes literally 3 times as much as me) but has 7+ years of experience in one specific field. I truly believe that experience goes further than a degree but he’s convinced it will be harder for him to find a job w/o a degree.
My brother is hiring spacecraft systems engineers (in Cali). If you know anyone who'd be interested, please let me know
Some advice needed. I’m pretty young in my career. 1 year at Enterprise Rental Management 1 year at ADP and currently doing commercial real estate. I have my MBA in Strategic Planning (not a top school). Is it worth pursuing a career at google or Microsoft or should I wait a few years due to experience? Or is there any sales or product management job that is worth it?
I've been in real estate title insurance for 15ish years, but just finished my BS in accounting, because I realized if I'm going to have a desk job, I'd rather have the opportunity to make more money and not grow old with a magnifying glass and a dusty old plat map. Plus, I like accounting better.
Any tips from anybody else who made the switch to accounting later in life? Do my prior career soft skills give me as much as a boost as I hope they do?
Official job hunt starts soon.

I'm looking at a career that doesn't require a bachelor's degree. Anyone here who got a job without a undergrad degree (I'm currently pursuing a business diploma). I plan to go back to school once I figure out what I want to major in (Probably finance, management or marketing)
Don’t remain in an environment that will eventually drown you because of little insignificant perks that distract you from pursuing your own dreams.
Be wise! Now may be the time to get out!
I am new here and I have been actively looking for a new career for 2 years now. I decided to go back to school and acquired an Associates Degree in Business and I am working on a Bachelors for Information Technology, although i am not quite finished yet I am still actively looking for work in Recruiting or Tech. I have also invested hours and money in tailoring my resume to fit the career path I want and after applying for to over 400 jobs i keep getting No’s. Any advice?
Hi everyone! I’m an elementary technology/STEM coach looking to pivot to an educational technology career. I love learning different learning management systems, giving product training, and designing lessons/curriculum based on standards. Are there any courses or certifications I would need to make this move? I presently have my masters in elementary Ed and have been teaching for 15 years (10 in NJ). Current salary is 85K so a move would need to make sense. But I would also like to be happy!
