Currently working as an in-house SEO for a big ecommerce company (fortune 500). Currently earning 65K CAD. Contemplating a position for SEO manager on another company, SaaS B2B, very small office (<50people), pay around 80-100K. It's not a startup.

Did anyone made a move like this? From a big company (SEO team has 5+ people) to a very small company? I'm worried about job security and how stressful this new position would be, considering I'll be the only SEO professional there.

I'm currently a recruiter, with an HR background looking to make a slight career pivot. As an introvert, the recruitment aspect has been draining however, I do enjoy the non-phone screen aspects of it. I’ve received offers from both for Business Operations Associate & Senior Analyst (Performance Management), respectively. While the pay for ZS is about 20% more I’m more focused on the opportunity to grow in my data/metrics handling skills and access to professional development.

I've been in marketing for 7 years and it's been primarily paid social analytics and design at a local agency. I want to expand into the world of SEO, but I know its a complex new world for those without experience. Can anyone give me some pointers on where to start and how you got started learning about the basics of SEO? I want to set myself up with a solid base of knowledge from which to grow.

The creative team is cutting back my content. I’ve explained to them that this will hurt their SEO, but they don’t seem to care. I'm sure they’ll freak out when they see the lack of organic growth.
