That’s poor. I was really impressed with Deloitte - they opened the office up over the weekend for people to go in and charge devices and cool down. Even laid on food for the families to give them a nice space to hang out. It’s all down to what leaders you want to work with!
Yes PwC did too , not sure on the food but the charging and called employees to see if they might need hotels or other resources
Congratulations! Leave! Not only is it tone deaf, it’s insensitive too. I too, was asked to go into office as other personnel were able to go in. I straight up refused because I didn’t want to leave my wife and kids in the heat and wasn’t going to take them in with me either. And it wasn’t just the power for us, our water shutout too!
No everyone is like that at the firm. Definitely apply. The person who asked me to do that isn't from the area and hasn't experienced hurricanes in their life. So it wasn't anything personal
HP really stepped up! We had employees and family staying and sleeping in the building. They setup food and games for everyone as well. I was very proud to be an HP employee!
Wow that is AMAZING!!!!
I’m sorry but they are running a business. If you are safe and can use your hotspot to get a few hours of work in, I think it’s fair for them to ask you to do so.
who is trying to work through a hurricane and tornado? You don’t get any brownie points for that? “If you’re safe?” Safety is the ONLY thing most of us are worried about not working through a disaster
