Ey stopped providing breakfast before training too
Of course. There's a recession quickly approaching (and also another housing bubble).
I started at EY in 1991. First year there EY ended all Christmas parties (that didn't use to be offensive...now holiday party) as well as all firm outings and happy hours. When the dotcom bubble was in full gear, they would do anything to make staff happy. Circle of life...
Interim is not 50 and busy season is not 65. If your managers are saying that it's bullshit and not in line with the firm as a whole.
What office are you in? No such thing on the West Coast
Minimum 65? Holy sh!t. I remember when it was 55 during busy season. Of course, most people worked more, but a minimum of 65 chargeable is nuts
Not sure what trainings you go to, but I definitely get provided breakfast before mine lol
Definitely a recession coming up
@D3 - East coast bud.
^Because $$$
Life's cyclical. And yes, things always happen. Glad to sense though that you realize that life is real and not a video game. So many think they are sheltered from reality or think reality is only in their devices, in their heads, in their circles.
What's the minimum hours for interim and busy season now?
Minimum hours?
Interim 50 and busy season 65, and I think busy season goes Jan 1 - April 1 now ...
I don't think that will be true for my office
KPMG has been tightening budgets for unnecessary expenses too. They're pushing a "smart spending" ideology right now
Thats what i have been saying. We should all protest to get better treatment.
@STA1 KPMG has been pushing "spend smart" for at least the past 4 years (since I started). While I've heard they're watching expenses more closely, I haven't personally felt an impact.
@OP Yeah that's what I'm saying, your managers are saying that and not the firm. Why would you guys have different requirements than the rest of us? How could we all be judged on the same level then at year end?
