I feel like it’s the opposite for me. I went to an Ivy and most people at my current and previous firm that did are POC, and we don’t really bring it up
That's how people are who went to Ivys. It was their life's ambition and truly their peak LOL. Certainly, a type of person if you ask me...
Yes. Are you in a secondary market? Plenty of POC from ivy schools at the NY firms I worked at, but agree w/ A1 that no one ever talks ab Ivies as a group - just specific schools and only in the recruiting context.
Moving to a secondary market soon though and I’ll be the first (but not last 😤) AA male in the office…hmmm
LOL in my office, if you bring that up you're gonna get some backlash one way or another. So if you're willing to be bold, then do so. But you'll get wrecked lol
Yes, undergrad and law school. Rarely comes up unless I meet people who went to the same school(s).
I did. It’s not really something I talk about unless asked, but that’s just me. Outside of work some people don’t even know I’m an attorney lol
Haha I did. And I agree, I feel like most people at my firm who went to an ivy were of color and a lot of the white attorneys *somehow* got the same job even though they went to a lower ranked school. Wonder how that could be??? 🙃
I did for law school. It mostly comes up when others bring it up. Generally, I don’t talk about it.
Yes but I never talk about it unless asked. Partners would bring it up to clients when I was at a firm.
Yes and I never bring it up, nor does anyone else.
Opposite at my firm and competitors. Most POC are at least single Ivy.
