Hiring managers: How is the interview process like at your company and how much say do you have when it comes to choosing that candidate?

I had a behavioral interview with a manager from another team and a case study with the hiring manager. They both took notes as I gave my answers but the first manager was very disinterested from the get go and was distracted as he kept looking away from the screen.

I’m wondering how much influence the first manager has since I’m not sure what he’s writing

Just got another rejection... Is exiting to FAANG or MB really this hard? Trying to go tech.. or mbb, but not getting anywhere. I have 2 masters (mba, ms) from top schools, been in consulting for over 10 years, I am confident that I know my stuff well..but still I keep getting rejected. I have a new direct report who’s at producer level and needs a lot of hand holding. I’ve been her manager for 6 months and she has yet to do anything without me telling her. Like at the start of a project she doesn’t immediately meet w creatives, work on costs/budget etc. She’s self described as ‘shy’ but doesn’t take initiative. She needs help responding to emails. I’m just not sure she has IT. Suggestions on how to support her but also help her grow welcome!
