The advantages for underrepresented groups seems to have faded a bit over the past few years, and will likely further erode as companies begin to leverage more tech/AI.
I have personally been intentional about recruiting diverse slates of candidates, or advocating for candidates who were more borderline but would bring diversity, however I have started to see more companies care less about people/workforce in general the past couple of years. Constant layoffs and other trends have impacted a lot of talent initiatives.
AI is the new DEI. AI/ML HRIS tools will annotate interviews, generate scripts, stack rank human capital faster, more accurate to impossible filters than companies believe they are entitled to demand, and at a fraction of the cost.
