Yes it's not unheard of and quite common for people to pass on the first try. That's not to say it's uncommon if you don't. Time effort dedication work schedules family etc all contribute to your ability to focus and put in the time you need. Doesn't matter so long as you eventually pass. Once that happens no one cares about your score or how many times you took the exam.
@Snr. Mgr 1: Here's the thing. I don't have to justify my life choices to you. I am exactly where I need to be as I have no desire to be partner. I have tons of experience working with all Big 4s, BDO and RSM, and when I find an industry opportunity that lines up with my desires and works with my family situation I'll take it. For now, I'm paid well and have all the flexibility I need. Not everyone is in a race to the top 🙂
In comparison to other professional qualifications and international exams - cpa exam is considered pretty easy.
i did while working full time cause i don't want to give up my summer just to study.
Yes myself and all my friends - make sure you take the exam before you start working if possible.
I did while working. Started working in july2007 took first exam in october and took last exam in February 2008. Piece of cake!
I passed on first try. Took 2 parts in November and the rest in feb and April. Would have done it sooner, but in addition to a full time job, I was also teaching two classes as an adjunct, building a house, and wife had our child in December. It's not that hard.
Passed all 4 parts the first time, back when you had to take all 4 parts together within a 2 day period. Plus I was working full time. Can't help but think it's much easier having the option of taking one part as a time.
Me. I was working full-time and planning my wedding. It wasn't that bad.
I did and I took all 4 parts at once.. so it was a one time deal all around for me. Took lots of dedication but totally worth it.
Also...I turned down an offer to be a partner 2.5 years ago. Just wasn't what I wanted.
I had a few fuck it attempts I failed.
Also to OP, I did 🙋🏻
AM1 - fair point. Juat asking and was wondering what structure of your firm was right. Good luck!
My wife passed all four in less than two months. The second month while working.
Yup E4, I was offered the partnership at a much smaller firm. PwC1--seriously? I certainly don't need to tell lies about something like that. SMH.
I started in July of 2015 and passed all 4 parts between October 2015 and May 2016 on the first try. That being said it completely sucked studying during spring busy season. It's definitely doable though.
I did.. finished all 4 may-august
Triggered! Lol, trying to overcompensate for something?
Why has this become such a trending thread?
I did. So did most of my friends. I was already working at that time too.
I did full time 50+ hours a week of studying starting May 7th and my last exam was Oct 15. It was awfully depressing but i passed on my first try. Keep studying and doing MC is the trick !
