Do you take “mental health days” from work? I allow my team to take them for sure, but struggle to do them myself. What’s the culture in your company around that? Are they supportive or not so supportive of them?

This is a place in which I need to perform better for myself.

Yeah, we're somewhat encouraged to take one of our sick days whenever we feel like we need to tend to our mental health. I've personally taken a few in the past and it's definitely nice to catch a break when one feels that way. Why do you think you struggle giving yourself a day off? We should all be kind to ourselves, at least on occasion.

Because I feel like it shows that I’m not necessary in my job. That if I’m not there for time off, people will assume I’m not necessary.

I do. If I'm super run down or burnt out for whatever reason, I have no problem taking advantage of my PTO. That's what it's there for. I wouldn't necessarily say my company is supportive of mental health, as I never disclose the reason for my absence, but it is respectful of requests and I've never had one denied so far.

That’s what’s up. I’m the type of boss to never deny a request either. I don’t event ask any information around it. As long as I’m given the opportunity to make sure the work is covered.

We have some no questions asked sick days that we can take, so for what purpose is really up to you. I can say overall the company is good about letting us take those days and also PTO. That has not always been my experience working at other places. I struggle to take days too, I worry about “wasting” it and then really needing a ton later on.

Yes, I take mental health days when needed, but don't tell anyone that's the reason. I take a sick day or vacation day when it seems like the world is closing in on me and I can't breathe. I ask the assistant manager to man my desk and handle any calls I get while I'm out. I do the same for her when she takes a few days off. That keeps the return-to-work experience a little less shocking.

Maybe once or twice a year. It has to be pretty bad. When it’s not, but I’m still struggling to get through the day, I resort to taking a walk for 10-15 minutes.

Have you ever dealt with a colleague that believes in extremely (in my opinion) outdated or even just false claims and treats them as scientific facts? I work with several older men but one of them practices "provocative therapy" as in you just play the devil's advocate with your patient and side with the negative half of their thinking. Anyone with stage IV endo and recurring Endometriomas gone on Lupron after egg retrieval? I’m still on birth control but my doc said after egg retrieval (assuming we get a strong embryo), I’d get off of birth control and on lupron for two months before transfer. The reason I’m not getting off of birth control now is because it manages my pain.

Has anyone had a nurse state the assumed sex at 12 week ultrasound? The nurse is fairly sure it's a boy, and I'm wondering how accurate her guess is based on a close look of the genitals. Confirmation won't happen until 20 week appt, too far away!

I’m extremely out of shape and have just started going to the gym. When i do squats, like literally by squat 5 my knees are hurting. But i know my form isnt wrong. Do i just have bad knees or is this normal when ur out of shape?

I have a looming sense of self hatred. I take medication I workout and do all the things to feel good, but it’s just stuck there. Constantly thinking I’m trash, in a bad person, etc. Feeling guilty for things idek if I should feel guilty about. This is a privileged problem and I know it’s minuscule to compared to the actual struggles of so many people in the US and abroad. Just wondering if anyone has felt this as well and if so, how do you get rid of that self hatred?

How do you maintain Gym schedule if you are out at clients often?

I’m around 21 weeks and have been dealing with a lot of leg, tailbone, back, and general muscle pain. Since I do work long hours Monday- Wednesday (10hr +) I’m trying find a comfortable chair to switch to. Any recommendations? Currently I’m switching every hour or so between my kneeling chair and standing.
