I’m currently working in insurance customer service at an agency. I work in the mortgage department assisting w mortgage changes , payments etc. I’ve been thinking about becoming a claims adjuster most likely for property damage . Is it worth it ??? I hear a lot of talk about how claims adjusting is a lot of work and very demanding but I think my current position has prepared me for the challenge. What are some good companies I maybe should apply for after getting my license?

The industry is crumbling under our feet and I still can’t decide if I want to go in-house or not. I’m afraid it won’t be as exciting and I won’t travel as much. But also, I need a job. So 🤦‍♂️

Hi everyone, should a Java Spring backend developer (2.5 y.o.e) go for SAP Hybris? Hybris uses Spring Framework internally as I am told but I want to grow as a Java backend developer and want to work with microservices based projects. Hybris looks like a different ball game altogether. What should I do?

I have an offer accepted from Elevance 125k (Anthem) and w a good team and seems that WLB would be ok. Also, Amazon hiring manager wants to interview me for a job. Is just a hiring manager int. so obvi nothing guaranteed. Salary if offered will be more than 150k. My question is should I accept the interview and see where it goes? Is it really worth it to proceed with a company like Amazon for 25k+. I live in CA so $ is imp but I do have a toddler so WLB is also imp. Both role are Sr. MGR.

How do you transition from big 4 consulting to big law? My clients are all funds, and I do international tax consulting. I have used my connections to refer me into probably 10 big law firms and it’s not working. One most recently came back and said they aren’t interested bc I have no law firm experience. How am I supposed to get it though? I can’t go to lower ranked firms bc my clients are all “big.” … any suggestions appreciated!

Is it a red flag if, after almost two years in a full quota carrying and selling role I want to take a lower role at another company in order to break into a field (tech sales) I want to work in? It’s better pay - closer to home and at a company with a better reputation?

I’ve gone above and beyond for my company for a while, and all I got was my quarterly bonuses and remote work taken away without explanation. Owner says he wants more “team building” from his florida mansion (we’re in the northeast). Half the company remote, half the company in the office with 0 explanation why. You want us cracking new accounts? Banging out 100 calls a day? PAY US ACCORDINGLY. Don’t piss on us and call it rain

How would you suggest dealing with a toxic boss? They gossip and seem to purposely be vague about critical information, likely so they can't be held accountable.

“Job hopper” and “quiet quitting” are all schemes made up by boomers to make you think everything is the employees fault. When in reality people are just getting out of bad situations. Older companies do whatever they can to pay you the least amount and get the max work out of you. Except our generation will just leave amid we’re being mistreated, not complain for 35 years making 50k and 0 advancement.
