No, it's kind of a nightmare job. At that point I'd want to move into another realm, though don't ask me what. There's just a lot of pressure and a lot of people mangement. But if you're good at it and good at leadership and can bring in tons of $$ go for it! Best advice is know how to bring in tons of $$ and how to teach other people how to do that better.
Nah, I thought I did but I don't think I could handle that kind of responsibility personally. And I don't think the comp is that great for what the role entails IMO
Highly recommend Thursday Night Sales to get insight and answers to questions like this. It's a free community and is full of incredible, kind humans.
This is my goal— though whether it’s sales, SE, Customer Success, etc. I’m very much looking for that challenge.
As with a lot of companies I was promoted after several years of sales success, and I never thought I would take to leadership and coaching but I love it and have been very much encouraged to continue.
I’m currently a Director (2nd line) so VP would be the next stepping stone for me— however if I want to be part of some of the bigger organizations I may have to start lower at Manager or I.C. but with the kind of money I’m seeing they can call me anything they want! But I’m letting my work, and successes of my current team speak for my body of work.
Adding from up top….
…I want the freedom and flexibility for my family and I to do as we please (travel, hobbies, kiddo activities, etc.). Barely anything is affordable anymore.
