[query] Is it a good idea to say a firm No due to medical reasons to a new night shift project I'm hired in?Accenture
I recently got a night shift project (2 days ago) that requires me to work from 10:30pm till 7:30am
I'm not comfortable with these timings and I'm thinking to ask my manager to put me on Bench (Due to medical reasons that involve mental health)
Is it a nice idea to say a firm No to a new project I'm hardlocked into, due to night shifts?

I’ve also noticed some of the fathers I work with are still logging crazy hours, suggesting calls after hours, and in general not setting or following boundaries. My impression is that while their kids may be just outside the door these days, there still hasn’t been THAT much compromise.
These men are all very senior, granted, and their at-home dynamic may reflect a breadwinner status. But it does frustrates me, because I’m (also) senior, and the breadwinner for my family - but my husband is not shy about reminding me he works too and his job deserves some consideration. It doesn’t feel like these men have the same pressures from their partners, even during these times.
Or maybe they do, and just don’t let it bother them as much?
They likely have SAH spouses. As long as that crutch is there, there’s not much actual sympathy...
It has been nice that my husband sees how much I fuckin do now and work. Gawd it only took a pandemic! Here I am ordering groceries at 4am so we have the nice to haves next week. Night sisters.
