Does anyone have a good guide for selling your car (financed) on Craigslist? Carvana and others are giving me terrible rates for cash now so I want to do it myself but I don’t know how

Have you tried CarMax. I sold a car there this year. It was the best offer I could find. I have sold cars myself a few times but not with loans. You might need to pay off the loan before you can sell it yourself. I usually use autotrader or cars.com. Unless the car is under $10k it’s hard because people can’t afford that without a loan and you don’t know if that loan check is fraudulent or not. I only sell for cash although it seems like Zelle might be safe too. Don’t take a cashiers check. They get faked. If the buyer says they don’t have the cash on them, offer to go to their bank. Have them withdraw, and hand you cash.

I sold 2 cars on but both were loan paid off. I would meet the prospects in a busy parking lot and take a picture of their license. And then meet at a bank branch where they can give me cash and I would deposit that into my account right away. Paper work is easy. But if it's financed , the lender will have the title, and you can not transfer ownership. If there is way, I wouldn't know

Also recommend FB Marketplace.
For the loan issue, can you qualify for a personal loan. Then you could payoff the car loan and have title in hand. Once sold, payoff the personal loan.

Better to eat the low price than being scammed and lose everything on Craigslist.

Try FB Marketplace

I sold 2 cars on Craigslist, worked fine for me. Cars.com and cargurus are other options to consider.

I would like to hit fire between 40-50. Currently 27, 185k total comp (125 for me and 60 for partner). Like my job don’t hate it don’t love it. Does an MBA make sense? I’m guessing it could take me to 170ish with that schools I’m looking at but wondering if the 40-50 retirement range makes an mba not make sense since I’d only have 10-20 years to save vs 12-22.

Would have to finance the whole thing myself. Current net worth is 140k. Thoughts?

Best place to get pre-qualified for a mortgage?

I have some collections on my credit report. One from an electric company for $800 (imo they violated terms of contract and sent me to collections in spite of their fuck up), and an apartment for $80~ that charged me a cleaning fee when my apartment was spotless.

Despite these two collections have a 712-720 credit score.

So mortgage lenders care at all about the collections or is it mostly the credit score that matters?

From a financial standpoint in this market, which would be a better approach in Austin -

1. Buy a ~8-850k house that meets most of our ideal criteria (size, schools, interiors etc) to stay long term

2. Buy a ~5-550k house that’s not ideal with the plan of moving into an ideal home in 4-5 years when kid is ready for school.

How easy is it to get a mortgage for the second home?

Household income - 300k

Happy to add more details as needed

Thanks
