Does anyone know how long it takes to get a lump sum payout of your pension if you leave EY and decide to take that open? Someone told me a week someone else said 60-90 days.

Staff get pensions?

Okay great. Thank you. Did the value change much from what you were projecting on your own in the benefits tool before you left? I'm worried they are going to "revalue" it to be less !

like

Yep, minus taxes

like

Mail* but I think you can call and have them project the value based on your last day

like

When I left January 6 was my last day. They made me wait until the end of march before they gave me the option to buyout because my pension was being "revalued". I'm not sure if that is standard or if it was because the federal rules changed. In any case, in early April they sent me a package with buyout option. I had to decide by July 1 what I wanted to do. I early June I opted for the buyout. I got the check July 15.

They did. That's what made me decide to take the buyout. I didn't trust them. I had a significant pension. It dropped in value by 20k from what I have in projections just before I left.

......that is ridiculous. They sent me a paper version of the projection and it's projecting around 19K. And I hope it doesn't drop ....

EY OP what level? Considering leaving and have heard a pretty wide level of $ values

Left a month before senior 2

Alright sweet, knew a senior 2 who left and got approx 17k

Actually got paid out that in the lump sum?

OP how long did it take to get the mailed projection from when you left the firm? I just left and was curious when I'd see that.

I ran it before I left and requested it via makl

Was what you got in the mail different from what you ran? I went and looked today and mine is less than 9k and that seems a lot lower than everyone else

Hmm my value when I ran it and the paper they mailed were pretty close. I don't have the final yet since I have to wait 60 days go get it

I'm under contract for a new build in progress that won't be done until much later this year. I fully expect interest rates will be higher than what I originally estimated. I may or may not try to lock in a good rate early, but I'm planning on renting it out and this throws a bit if a wrench in my margins. I can take it financially, but wondering, If I absolutely needed to get out of buying it, what recourse do I have? Or could I go ahead, and refinance later (who knows rates at that time...)?

Sell or keep my old condo? Condo worth around 450k and still 310k balance to pay off. Mortgage is 2200 (adding HOA) and monthly rental is 2300-2400. It's an old condo so maintenance has already ate 50-60k over the course of 3 past years. Should I keep it or ditch it given that the cash flow is so minimal & upcoming maintenance might take me another hit?

Generally curious how many companies offer phone reimbursement? My last gig did not but the current one does. Legally it seems, all employers are required to do so if we use our phone in literally any capacity (video call, slack, teams, emails etc). How prevalent is the issue of not reimbursing phone dues?

I made a mistake starting SIP in a ULIP. Used to invest 7500 per month starting from November 2018. I have discontinued my premium payments since last year. That is when my fund was moved to an interim surrender state and now it earns 4% per annum interest.

After 5 years of lock-in that is November 2023, can i withdraw the entire amount at a time? (Of course after paying surrender charges)

I’ve been told my company is changing my title from Associate Director of BD to Sales Executive. I’m concerned it reads like a title demotion. Is it just semantics? How will this look for my career development? Curious about the standard perception of Sales Executive from a seniority perspective. Where does this land on the sales roles hierarchy? For context, it’s a professional services firm, I’ve been there 3+years, and they gave a Sales Executive title to someone who just started 5mo ago.
