Not sure about bank, but assume you would be the top person at a fund other than the CFO. You know this but base is fixed/lower at most places since bonus can be multiples of salary. I would guess 150-200 base, all in at least 280-300. I would target 320 or more.

I have seen some large size fund managers have a base range of 220 to 250 with about a 100k bonus.
Yes that sounds right. Large shops can afford to pay a higher base because they have the mgmt fees to cover it. Smaller ones are bonus heavy in case they have a bad year. It’s a specialized skill set so everywhere pays decent, if you’re good. It depends what you’re looking for, stability vs. growth vs. upside. Also it’s easier to get bits of carry at smaller shops.
