EY you can get leadership approval for the EA to make it to manager. PwC you can also take the EA to make it to manager but to make it to senior manager you need the CPA (a partner confirmed with HR).

If you are CPA eligible there’s generally no way around it, you’d have to get CPA. If you’re not CPA eligible there is a list of certifications you can get. EA should be one of them for transfer pricing.

Not if you are a JD or have some other appropriate certification. eY1 is correct.

I know a tp manager has MBA which an be used for promotion

Okay, I don’t think the peope responding are in TP. I’m in TP, no manager or above in my team is CPA. They are Ph.ds, MBAs, and JDs. I’m sure CPAs can also be promoted but my team doesnt have any at the manager level. EY2 is right, PwC does allow EAs for manager and SM level but not to make it to Director or above. I’m not sure if EY allows EAs to make it to manager. I would speak to your partner about it.

Can one substitute a foreign CPA equivalent (Indian Chartered accountant certification) for manager considerations?

like

No specific certification requirements in TP at Deloitte. Promotions driven by competence and performance. Same for most of the speciality tax groups.

I’m pretty sure for ITTS cpa isn’t required for promotion

Hi All, I'm looking for Product folks who'd be interested in chatting with me about their experience in Google, the products they work on, the journey into Google, what they look for while hiring, what kind of skills will be an asset. I am a Product Manager in a different company now, but joining Google is a long time goal, hoping to learn from your experience and align my learnings to be a solid candidate in the near future. Not applying now but planning the best way of getting there. Thanks!

Is our industry as competitive as some say? I see a lot of people saying this and I work with a bunch of hacks (myself included). It felt like a little while ago agencies were begging to hire new talent, and most couldn’t find new people. Is it really that hard to get a job at an agency? Maybe I’m just out of touch being in this career for so long.

Feeling like I’ve been “bait-and-switched”…

I’ve been interviewing at an agency with the intention of filling a Director role. Recruitment reached out soon after my last meet-and-greet interview (about 6 to 7 people total) to tell me the team thinks I would be best suited for an Associate Director role with a fast follow of a Director promotion.

Recruitment can’t tell me what feedback is creating this gap but also won’t stop mentioning the positive praise and feedback the team had for me.

Recently accepted a temp role as an HR admin for a former employer. Previously interned there & left because my supervisor did not have any growth opportunities planned out for me; this was in spite of my stellar performance, as reflected in my 90 day review. She has since left the company, but there’s crazy turnover in the company & in the HR department in particular. Just that an HR coordinator resigned. Is it worth going back into a dumpster fire w/ no leadership to gain experience?

Definitely took the wrong job. I was offered a seriously competitive salary and great benefits to work at a well funded startup, which is great! Turns out the salary and benefits were meant as lowkey bribes to insure I worked at the company without actually doing any work. Every single suggestion I've made has been shut down and I've been ghosted for several meetings with the CEO. What should I do? Just leave?

I currently work as an APM at a FAANG company but recently received an offer to join an MBB. I’m very excited about the role but didn’t realize I’d need to take a pay cut when I applied (~100k base + ~20k bonus + ~60k equity vs. 90k base + 10-20k bonus). Considering that I currently work 40-60 hours/week, I’ll be making significantly less per hour at the MBB.
