Hot weather definitely affects us, making us more tired, but I think it says more about the vibe inside the company.
Do you work outside? Or your office is otherwise not adequately air-conditioned?
When I was the HR Manager at a manufacturing facility, my office was the only office that didn’t get cool; so I bought one of those table-top blowers with an ice cartridge inside.
Otherwise, I had to keep up with the busy workload of a weekly payroll, a jacked-up reports system, and twenty other ice cream headache workflows.
The heat was just part of my reality. I didn’t let it affect me.
Rising Star
Definitely. I think productivity drops when the office feels like a greenhouse. People are physically uncomfortable before they even start work.
