I’ve worked at AT&T as a sales consultant for 6 years and 8 months where we prospect, uncover, and close on leads. I’ve used Salesforce for the past 4 years during my tenure. I’ve done B2B sales where I’ve received awards for it for 2 years consecutively. Loads of troubleshooting, uncovering needs through consultative styled selling, and tech app subscriptions.
I was wondering if I have the necessary skills to transition into a tech sales role. If so, what would be the best role/fit for me?Amazon Salesforce Google @

That hasn’t been my experience… but I’m always up-skilling myself through continuing education, grabbing a designation or certification… or finding ways to get in front of the right client instead of any client…
Do I have friends who are smarter than me? Absolutely… Do they look down at me? Maybe… Do I make significantly more than my friends who are doctors, lawyers and college professors (truly by definition more educated)? A resounding yes…
So why do I care?… you can have your degrees, accolades and high stress jobs… I’ll keep my 7-figure compensation, while working no more than 50 hours a week…
i agree. to be honest, i think an ideal sales process is well documented and teachable.
if you gotta use your brain a ton maybe it’s like a super technical niche i suppose? but i try to design my sales process as simple as possible so I can scale it
Idk if i have the same experience, but i am not a pure sales person. I still oversee the projects (and use analysts to prepare deliverables)
Im not sure, like I feel my capacity is already low and it was lower in my last job. I also was paying minimum wage which wasnt much of an incentive for being yelled at and treated badly in other ways by cxs
