Currently working in canada at $130000 +20% bonus.
8 total year of experience of which 6 years of experience in UX field.

1. Am i below average payscale?
2. If i am moving to FAANG companies what is a good number to ask.

Anyone ever been fired after being on a performance plan?

Still looking for work 2 1/2 years later. I was laid off when Covid hit as a Director of food and beverage in West Hollywood /Beverly Hills, relocated to Omaha Nebraska with the same organization to open a property. Laid off after the opening. I’ve been doing Task Force work since. Looking at vice president or Director roles hotels/restaurant companies! I have applied everywhere, nothing but ghosting treated disrespectfully, offered horrible salaries or told positions on hold. Need a Job

I just got laid off, and I’m not even mad about the job, but they literally didn’t even tell my CD before they let me go, then asked me not to tell anyone before they announced it to the network. I’m sorry, but on what planet am I not hanging up from that call and immediately calling my CD? Which is exactly what I did. They locked me out of my computer so I couldn’t even pass off files, plus it locked me out MID-call where I was being let go. Very professional. Also, my CCO didn’t even know. 🖕🏻

Have a big interview tomorrow. The question I dread the most is about why you’re looking for a new job. The honest answer is that there isn’t enough work to go around at my agency and I want to get ahead of the inevitable layoffs. What’s the best way to tell them this? Got laid off in tech corp dev making 250-300 all in. Have an offer to join a fairly new family office investment team in PE buyouts but will be a fairly significant cash pay cut vs what I was making in tech corp dev. I’ve always been interested in doing investing. All things being equal, is there better upside to take the fam office to do PE (at a pay cut for now), or go do another corp dev job? 6-7 YOE

Maybe caring isn't the right word. I just stopped stressing about the work, stopped caring about it being perfect, having award-winning ideas. I do my best, put out good quality. But I just don't fight any battles any more. I make the logo bigger. I change the background photo. I'm agreeable, friendly, great to work with but care more about going home at 5pm than making the work "award-winning".
