Everyone says we need to find "a cure for cancer" and YES, definitely, but there are so many different types that we need at least 50 separate cures. More complex than people give it credit for. What does everyone here think?

I would love nothing more than to find more ways to prevent it from ever occurring than to treat it. I do think early detection is really helping with overall outcomes as well.

I think cancer will continue to mutate so while we “cure” it the body will figure out how to make it incurable anyway. The real question is how to detect it before it actually happens.

However, forget curing cancer..let’s take about why we know next to very little of the brain, mental disorders and addiction.

I think that more than treating each cancer separately is doing what chemotherapy does, this treatment attacks all cancer cells in the body, that is, the cure should be to treat the cell directly.

It is very complex but it is something that little by little will be achieved, what must happen is that the wheel of investigation must not stop.

In my opinion, all cures are investigated separately without problems, because for each type of cancer there is a specialty of medicine and for each specialty, there are many researchers trying to find a cure.

Many investigations are being done right now to attack the different types of cancer, and many others are being done to try to kill cancer cells before they grow, both are valid and in my opinion, more public money should be directed to help these investigations.

Thank you for starting this bowl! I just turned 50. I had my one and only child at 41 and went straight into menopause. My symptoms were perhaps confused with postbpatrum and nursing hormone symptoms but bow my hair is dry and frizzy yet somehow also oily and my skin lacks luster and I gain weight so easily. Working from home for eight months has definitely hanged my body shape and not for the better!

I figure if anyone can understand this, it’s you all. I feel like I’m losing my damn mind. I have always loved communications, and I’m really good at it. But lately I’m so tired of politics and toxicity that I it’s sent me into a depression tailspin, on top of a pretty severe mid-life crisis. Two and a half weeks ago, I quit my job with nothing lined up. Not the smartest thing I’ve ever done, but I kind of feel like self-preservation was at work here. I want to do work that makes a difference. ☹️

As of late, my work related anxiety has reached new levels and it’s really starting to affect me mentally. I’m part of a great team; I’m trusted and supported, have a great track record, there are no issues, and have been no incidents. Regardless, my professional self perception and confidence is so rattled as of late, it’s almost like a paralysis at times. I realize there are much larger problems right now, but if anyone has any tips or advice to get over this, I am all ears. Thanks all!

American citizen here. I have never really considered bringing my parents to live here permanently due to health care costs. My parents are in their 70s willing to move here if I want. What would it realistically cost to get them both good health insurance? They are both diabetic but otherwise healthy.

Well I recently told a guy I have been seeing I have HSV-2. We have not yet been physical but it’s been heading that direction. Man I hate this part - waiting to see what his response will be after he researches and talks to his doctor. I’m on daily meds which help reduce transmission risk. You’d think that since HSV-2 affects 20% of Americans and likely a higher % of gay men, there would be less taboo but it’s hardly ever talked about. Anyone else in my shoes? Or had it disclosed to them?
