External audit is sucking the life out of me. Endless busy seasons, mind-numbing checklists, and clients who treat you like the enemy. Seriously considering jumping ship to internal audit. Anyone here made the leap? Is it truly more strategic and less monotonous?

Been in internal audit and strategic is not a word I’d use to describe it. Checklist based in my experience

Not based on some of the people I’ve seen come through🙃 lol

Been in industry for almost a year. Working with our IA team now, strategic is the least thing i would use to describe them. They constantly come at me for checklist/ did you do this did you do that/ where’s the documentation etc 🤪

like

Ugh

As someone in industry in the tax dept, I wouldn’t say our internal IA team is different in terms of checklist but you would likely work less

Started a new job a year ago, high performer. My manager suggested a promotion to Product Manager since that‘s the work I’m doing, but that would be a 50% raise. Higher ups decided instead to make a “new role” (not PM), that has no analog in the company and is hard to price via Glassdoor, etc. I feel like this is to limit my promotion salary to something like 10% from where it currently is. Is there anything I can do? FWIW: I have a PhD from top 5 program and am working in that field. Thanks!

Looking for advice! I was approved to work remotely but my salary will decrease 10%. I received two raises so the decrease brings me down to my previous salary. I was told that it’s due to the cost of labor in the area.

I’ve been with my company for 8+ yrs, I love my manager and the work I do (engagement, recognition, & wellness programs) but I feel like I’m limiting myself since I have the experience, an HRM degree, and SHRM-CP credentials.

Should I apply for roles outside the company?

How difficult was the exam? Can you share your experience studying for the CIPM exam? Is it advisable to skip CIPP?

Many thanks in advance.

Looking for some advice on a career change. I work in a technical role and have well-developed soft skills. I want to transition to UX (w/ focus on accessibility). There are a lot of UX educational programs out there, some very new, e.g. Dribbble, and costs are all over the place - General Assembly is $15k (and full-time), CareerFoundry almost $8k, and then many others at a fraction of the price. Reviews also vary wildly. Are these more expensive programs worth the huge increase in cost?
