EY PAS fish, was told during interviews that travel is expected to pickup again once COVID is resolved. Never had to travel for work before:
1) do you think it'll return to pre-covid levels?

2) does the company pay for Ubers/Lyfts/Taxis to&from airport (I don't own a car)? I assume they dont, but asking just in case

Interviewing for BIOLIFE today and looking to gain insight from anyone who works for the company.

I had two rounds of discussion (more than a month ago) and the recruiter informed me that they’ll be scheduling the HR discussion and then be rolling out the offer.

It has been two weeks now and I haven’t heard from the recruiter nor has my HR discussion been scheduled.

The recruiter does not answer my calls or reply to e-mails.

Has anyone ever Upgrades to premium class on a flight (on Alaska in this case) only to cancel for a flight credit? Basically I booked saver fare, need to cancel it but don’t want to eat the cost. It’s $100 to upgrade round trip and premium class can get a flight credit. Is this possible? Or will Alaska not let that happen?

My technical interview was on 19th Feb and received HR called me on 22nd feb for salary discussion but again on 22nd Feb 2nd HR called to have managerial round which was scheduled on 25th Feb and again got mail to submit CIS form. On-board my first flight in 6 months watching a man 2 rows down gradually fill with rage as our flight reaches 45 minutes of delay. I never realized how much i missed this. I finally feel home again.

So I’m only contributing to 401k enough to get employer match, and I’m saving an additional ~20% and putting 90% of that into my vanguard mutual funds. Reasoning is that I don’t want to lock away all that money maxing out 401k. Have 3 months expenses liquid in a savings account. Is this really dumb? Essentially trading tax for the option of actually using my money.
