Facebook has a program manager role I want to apply for. How many pages is good for the resume submission? I have 10 YoE, but wondering if it needs to be 2 pages or less.

I recommend 1 page per year, be very explicit about what you did

One page total. Shows you can summarize a lot of information in a concise way

Or that you haven’t done much in your career. Depends how you cut the narrative.

Genuine question: why does everyone think it needs to be one page? The old rule of thumb?

I said this in another thread but it kind of behooves you to have a longer resume in the age of keyword matching. I genuinely don’t understand the fascination with one page. Sure, it’s consolidated and you can then talk to it....but I look at a fair number of resumes and so long as it’s formatted well I don’t really care at all if it’s 2-3 pages. Really would like to understand the thought process around shorter is better, particularly when they are electronic 95% of the time these days.

I guess it depends on how you’re communicating. I’ve seen multi page resumes that were not clear at all....I’ve also seen some very clear multi page resumes 🤷🏻‍♂️. If you question my communicative ability over number of pages, seemingly arbitrarily, that’s kind of on you vs my ability to communicate.

Mine is 4 pages. 10+ YoE.

Posted and interviewed at all big 4 consulting firms, received offers at two (roles that were a better fit). Posted at two big banks (received offers at both). Posted at FB and SQ. Turned SQ down, in process with FB.

I do not include details on LinkedIn. Only job title, company, and employment dates.

Look, I’ve done a lot of things that necessitate a good sized resume. If I were only a consultant for 10 years, believe me, my resume would only be 1 page.

2 pages or less, I think unless you're in a very specific field (academia, federal government, etc). Big Tech is not one of those exceptions

1 page. That’s more than enough

1 page per decade of experience is good

Please please keep it to 1 page irrespective of your YOE. Anything worth saying can be condensed to 1 page, nobody wants to read more than that.

That’s why you make it skim-able - no one has to read the entire thing. I keep getting interviews with 4 pages.

Would it be hard to get a exp associate role in advisory at a B4 as someone with about 10 months in audit at EY, 7 months experience in corporate accounting at a F300 and CPA? Hated my time at the F300 but had thought the grass would be greener in industry. I’m starting a financial analyst position at a major hospital system in my area soon and want to stick with that for a couple years before making a transition but was curious if I just don’t have the right experience for a role in advisory.
