Why are you here? This app is not for accountants....

It depends on your team. Your firm should have a list of alternatives you can do to fulfill firm's need, if needed, we don't need it in Advisory. Project Management Professional and Certified Fraud Examiners are the 2 most common I've seen.

@OP how about a break?

like

@OP Perhaps subconsciously you don't really want it. Depends on the career route you're headed and if you really need to have it, then have the passion for it. Otherwise, like what PwC1 said, if you're in advisory you won't need it. I took CFA 1 twice and failed it (and was in asset management) I knew my heart wasn't in it. Now in Advisory and couldn't be more happier. Good luck to whatever you choose!

Just accounting major trying to finish what my degree grants me....I am thinking about whether worth it.

Ouch D1!

@OP it's not worth it. Switch now that you can because once you're in it and you have invested so much time and money for CPA you will probably stay just cause...

Make sense! What else can I take?

pwc1 I feel that is the truth!

Reading this as I prepare to sit for my first section in April 😩

You've already taken it this many times. Pass the damn thing and coast at work, make easy cash while you figure out what you want to do with your life

Hello fishes,
I need some serious career advice.
I joined DUSI nearly an year ago in SAP offering, but lately I have been feeling like I haven't learn anything in my project (support phase) despite so many efforts and working extra hours. My efforts and time has been wasted. I don't see any outcome of the work that I do, infact I don't even know why and what I'm doing. I'm an MBA graduate and the work I'm doing is far far far far not related anything to what I learnt in my MBA.

You know that itchy feeling in the back of your mind when you have sat still for too long? I have been trying to ignore it, but sometimes life sends you a wake-up call. My spouse is disabled and cannot work anymore, so I need to rethink my job in higher ed. I have had custom roles since I graduated with my MBA, and now I manage training programs, communications projects, research accounts, and more. I hate to be shallow, but needs change. Any advice on finding a more lucrative path?

I’m a senior manager (pre-director)with an mba degree from a top 20-30 b school and marketing experience prior in China. I’ve been here for 6 years and I live in SF. I’ve been mostly working in tech on sales effectiveness / cpq strategy/implementation work. What exits are out there excluding strat/ops or pm roles? Both seem too competitive for me. Also how do you look for that info?

I am looking to get into consulting, preferably in healthcare. Remote work.

I have 6 YOE in decision support (budget, stats, productivity, etc) at 2 different health systems. I have used epic, strata, and Lawson. I also have 7 YOE in accounting. I really enjoy teaching/helping people understand concepts.

Any suggestions? I have MBA as well.

I’m currently in a role that I began in December 2020 at $21 an hour (42k) I’m a little worried about whether I should stay and try to move up internally or apply to some jobs elsewhere. I’m getting my MBA and I have a bachelors in accounting. With the current market and possibly of recession is it a better idea to stay and tough it out or find a new company to hopefully stay a while and grow my career there? Thanks for any insights!
