I’m just sick of clients.
You are welcome to inbox me if you want to vent about clients
Family law clients are extremely difficult to work with, especially when there are children on the line and devastating divorce. They will call you at any hour of the day whenever dad or mom does something wrong and will ask whether it’s enough to take away their custody. I’ve lost my temper a few times as a new lawyer; I’ve learned to compose my frustration which takes skill and time.
I had a client from an appointed case yell at me in the courthouse and after months of accepting their terrible attitude, bad behavior, texts at 6am on Saturdays etc I lost my cool in the courthouse as well. They never raised their voice or caught attitude with me ever again. I felt terrible afterwards, and embarrassed that I lost my cool. A court employee told me they deserved it. Still it didn’t make me feel very good. The case was about to close so I stuck with it, for a few more months and the client was calm thereafter. I think it’s important to remember that we are humans who have emotions too. It’s okay.
And tired of clients thinking that I can carry allllll of their emotions. I also am sick of clients thinking I can magically reverse problems. It’s getting to be ALOT. I am not sure if I should start being more cold towards clients
