Fellow mamas, I need some encouragement. I have a 16 month old, am 7 weeks pregnant with number 2, and work full-time. I’m so nauseous, so tired, and feel generally awful. How do people do this? I don’t know if I can make it 30 plus weeks like this. I’m feeling so discouraged.

You won’t feel like this for 30+ weeks! Just a few more I bet until you’re feeling way better heading into the second trimester. You got this! One day at a time. Go to bed early :)

I’m feeling the same. I’ve just been a horrible mama with my three-year-old in the first trimester. My husband is doing everything. As I approach week 1, things are starting to ease a bit but I’m surprised at how grumpy and impatient I am.
Getting to sleep at 9:30PM is my only saviour.

Haha I should add: my husband came to collect our toddler, I didn’t just leave him there 😂

Recently got my child's passport renewed. Child is minor so effectively a new passport. Here is the timeline, with just regular service.

6/2 Applied in person at the local county office
6/6 The application reached the State Dept
7/9 Got email that status changed to Approved
7/12 Received the new passport

End to end, a little more than 5 weeks. "Routine service can take 8-11 weeks" is the standard disclaimer. It's all good people!

Anyone ever considered contractor gig in Meta/Facebook or any other big players in tech? I'm full-time in a smaller company and it's pretty stable. Wondering if the move could be worthwhile. Mostly want to explore other areas. Other things to consider: planning for babies in the next 3-5 years; maternity leave in current position is basically what's legally required.

Anyone watching Indian Matchmaking? Aparna and her mother have to be the worst, right? She thinks she's a godsend and quite frankly she looks like a potato, is ignorant, doesn't sound nearly as intelligent as she professes to be, and is even more negative than I am! That's gotta say something.

Currently going through the hiring process for a role in San Francisco. They told me the starting base was $110K, but this sounds like pennies in a city like San Francisco! I am concerned that if I make it through I’ll basically be poor in such an expensive city, not to mention the taxes. I also have a baby so child care I am sure is expensive. Not sure if it would make sense. Advice?

This week, I received a letter in the mail from a Catholic church in SC. So apparently my ex is trying to get our marriage annulled. We have been divorced for 20 years now. The letter said they wanted to ask me general questions about our marriage. I really don't want to talk to anybody about my past relationship with my ex. The letter said they could issue a subpoena to make me comply. Not sure why she is doing this? She remarried and had a child. So not sure what she has to gain by this? Cont.

I, a childless woman who does not plan to have kids, am jealous of the parental leave parents get to take from work from choosing to have a child (a big life event). I 100% understand that they are working in a different way by taking care of the baby and being deliriously worn out in the process, but it makes me sort of jealous that unless I have a kid there is no life event that I can take ~3 months away from work to focus on and enjoy, plus have my hours prorated and a job to come back to.

Anyone else dread baby showers? I don’t want to go to my friends baby shower just because of the social aspect of it. Dreading the side conversations that I may have. Does it get better..?

Just venting. My husband is so much into watching his tv show that he is not at all interested in planning the baby shower or even in making the registry. It just feels that I am doing everything right now and his priorities are just around watching his TV show. I get that he needs his me time but our baby shower is few weeks away and we have not sent out the invite yet, do not have the registry finalized (I cannot do it as he wants to be involved or will make changes over my selection). Contd…
