Any mass hiring happening for freshers??????
I was in the final stages of an interview with Microsoft two weeks ago, in partner marketing. Then the recruiter told me they were putting the hiring process on hold to assess the need for the role. Well, then we heard about Microsoft layoffs last week. Seems like most were in Xbox and Project Alpha but there’s not a lot of information out there. Should I hold out any hope that I’m going to get this job? Any insights on how much these layoffs have impacted the marketing org and/or new hiring?

Guys , whoever is interviewing and planning to join , do ask project availablity on priority basis before you take decision. On Java front looks like there is some project issue due to recent slowdown in market. My offer was not revised even after agreement with recruiter because of this.

I have received offer from Shell and SAP labs is in final stage salary discussion. Shell is offering 6 lacs more than @SAP labs. I have tried to negotiate a lot from SAP but they are not ready. They are putting conditions like give your full commitment to join then only we'll release offer letter. I am currently looking for work life balance with growth. Should I join @SAP considering its a Product based and good WLB and learning? Teck Stack - Java/Micro-services/cloud YOE - 11yrs

Guys there’s this boot camp that I came across that trains people to get jobs in Top consulting firms and has a fee plan wherein you pay once you get placed. I just wanted to know if someone here has any experience with this ?

I'd take Deloitte, but I wouldn't count on 25% bonus. I was consistently rated a 1 while at Deloitte and never got the 25%. I did get as $5K spot bonus which was nice.
OP- on the surface EY sounds better based on past performance. But it is getting very top heavy so extremely difficult to get promoted to SM or PPED. To top it, the firm does not have an up-or-out policy so filled with mediocre of sub-par people in leadership roles who just pull rank.
My god I’m underpaid
Don’t count on that 8% pbb also
You mean SM right? Those figures don’t sound right for M level
The culture varies by practice and by team. I’ve worked on teams where it was great and where it was bad within EY.
I got passed over for SM role in my firm and really want to leave
Take the Deloitte offer
EY.
And this is for manager level not Senior Manager
EY, Deloitte benefits are much lower. The only attraction is high performance bonus at Deloitte but again that’s just variable pay
In tech consulting, and left D for a bump to M. Personally think Deloitte is the better choice. You can build a great network with the PPMDs who are managing top accounts. Growth is strong.
Is this a SM title?
Evaluate culture differences between firms, how each firm performs work globally, growth trajectory of the firms, recent compensation and behavior patterns of the firms, tone/tenor of Fishbowl postings of the firms, inter-group teaming of the firms, etc. The comp is similar and I agree with prior post that D will likely not come close to 25% AIP despite what is said.
Financial service is growing very fast here. D has a big name brand and the pay is better but I will say there is more work/life balance at EY than Deloitte. Just balance what you’re looking for in a jump.
EY is becoming top heavy but you will have room to grow and shape the vision vs Deloitte which is already top heavy and very firm in who they are as a firm and methodology. Culture at EY is also better. A few extra dollars does not make up for peace of mind.
Culture so much better at EY. If you want endless politics go to D
FSO at EY is a very well developed practice and doing good work across a lot of areas. I think it's really which culture you liked better - who did you click with?
For financial services I’d go with EY. Comp is similar and a great offer for manager level
Regardless both are great offer: 190k+ is top of the line for Manager (virtually early Senior Manager’s salary). Deloitte is overall a slightly better brand (EY has a good brand too but just relatively speaking), but EY has a more friendly and collaborative culture.
