Layoff in IQVIA?
@iqvia
Is Nagarro good to join? I have a fully remote opportunity which I'm pretty sure I can crack. Is the pay and benefits good at Nagarro? Do they provide laptop and test devices or will I have to work on my laptop? Do they give medical insurance etc? What if the project gets over. Do they have enough projects or will I be asked to move to a different technology? Will I be fired if on bench? Nagarro

We’re all just along for the ride at this point. Hope you have some savings put away
Layoffs were bad in 2008. There were voluntary separation package emails being sent, people getting let go daily. I think this situation is a bit different. We will feel the pain as our customers do but I think it will not be as bad as 2008 with a faster recovery.
Best way to avoid lay-offs for yourself is to stay staffed
Odds are if you just got hired you’ll have a little bit of grace. Try and make your first project a longer term one.
Layoffs are particularly severe at consulting companies since they are on temporary projects and most are some kind of Sole proprietorship or Partnership. Everyone needs to remember that PArtners are paid through profits, and if they go way down, PArtners who made very large salaries before the downturn are set to make much less, even zero or if negative, might have to contribute something to the partnership. So Consulting Partnerships are BY FAR the fastest companies to react to downturns. I have worked for 3 of the Big 4 and 2 smaller boutiques. Some are completely ruthless for the “Front Line” workers. At Deloitte, they had massive waves in 2007across all of the East coast offices the same Friday (over 3 separate waves). the sad thing was when I walked out of my client office, I got texts all day from colleagues across the coast all day, but got an email from the university recruiting team congratulating me on how well my counselee did helping that week on the university recruiting event that week. Sad but true! It doesn’t matter if you are on the beach - they will typically draw a utilization and sales like depending on level and separate below those lines. KPMG was the best in terms of separation packages, but quicker to RIF. At least that was my experience.
Will likely be worse than 2008. Consulting and vendor spend will dry up this year at the Fortune 500.
Do you read the news? These companies are trying to keep people on payroll. Id say that’s a higher priority
Yes in this case I think layoffs may be worse. But also for some reason think the bounce back may be stronger?
No way
We had no layoffs in 2098/9/10. But it’s harder to go up, when there is less opportunity. Hiring was a bit down, attrition was a bit up.
