For the In-House attorneys on here who have done privacy consulting at a Big4 (Deloitte, etc.). What are the pros and cons in doing privacy law, when compared to privacy consulting? A recruiter reached out to me for an in-house role, but I am well compensated and comfortable in consulting, curious as to what the pros are in going in-house?

I’ve done both. My feelings are that in house is more closely tied to letter of the law and legal advice where consulting is more in line with operational and privacy program items.

Thx D1, just sent you a DM.

I'm going to flip your post on you. I'm looking at privacy consulting but not sure where to start. Do you have some suggestions?

I’m in privacy consulting at EY and the job market isn’t hot right now. With high interest rates, clients aren’t spending as much on consulting in general

Low billable, low pressure work in privacy law? Slowly realizing that as my boys get older, the money isn’t worth what I’m missing out on.
