HELP NEEDED: Just got offer for Deloitte HC as SC. I'm from a target MBA with a little over a year in consulting. What's the comp of a second year SC? Want to benchmark offer
What’s the case for going to MBB for 2-3 years before trying to make a jump to FAANG vs going straight to FAANG post-MBA?
2 years at MBB + M7 MBA, currently in Chicago. Looking to move to a lower cost of living geography. Heavily considering exiting into Tech in the Research Triangle Park Area (think Raleigh, Cary, Durham, Morrisville) . Targeting these firms for BizOps/ Sales Strategy roles: Cisco, Lenovo, IBM, Salesforce, Amazon, Microsoft. Non-negotiable is a focus on cloud technologies - either as a provider or an adopter. Any heavyweights I am missing? (Purposely left GCP out). Appreciate the stress test!
I’ve been working in healthcare for the past 5 years. I recently graduated with my MBA and am looking to get into consulting. Anyone able to refer me? Specifically, I’m looking to relocate to NY...
Seeking to transition out of the current industry into cloud computing. Spent the last 2+ years learning and acquiring experience in AWS, CI/CD, Jenkins, AWS Pipeline, GitHub, and Terraform. Honing Bash and Shell scripting. Picked up certifications as a PMP, AWS Cloud Practitioner, and AWS Solution Architect Associate along the way. Already have an MBA. What is the best way to break into the cloud and/or DevOps community?
What industries is the CFE certification used for? How does it compare to CPA in the length of the material and difficulty? Do most firms pay for It?
Thoughts on Prosci or SHRM-SCP certification? Which would be considered more valuable or highly regarded? Currently focused on Change Management but have a HR background (industry experience / area of study in college).
MBB experienced hire entry level or stay at current firm and make manager in 3 months? 2.5 YOE, currently at boutique life science strategy firm. Firm willing to sponsor for MBA as well
Any thoughts on getting a degree from Harvard Extension School? I’m thinking of getting a grad degree in Management Info Systems instead of getting an MBA
Has anyone taken one of those online executive courses, like the Harvard Extension School offers? Looking to use my $5k of tuition reimbursement and already have an MBA. Worth it? Best programs?
Is it impossible for me to get into a top MBA program considering I had a 2.9 undergraduate GPA? My major was business administration. Looking for constructive advice!
SC/SA hires straight from OCR MBA programs, what is the expected % base salary jump to Engagement manager or project leader after 2 years? 🙏
Any folks who did their MBA and went and joined MBBs . Was it worth the chase ? Would like to hear more on this.
I refuse to get my CISSP. I don't believe it's a valid certification to show competency in cyber security.
- Finished MBA end of 2018 - Upon graduation, MBA hire to tier 2/3 firm (basically tech consulting), laid off June 2020 - October 2020- started as PM/scrum master with mid-tier AWS consulting partner Question- I've always wanted to go to a top tier consulting firm for the experience/brand for PM/Program management. Would you be willing to take a paycut to make it happen? It seems in current climate candidates have all the leverage, but being told I don't have the experience for manager level
Work for a low paying consulting firm, getting my MBA part time, recruiting for an internship this summer in IB and to quit my job. Invested in a Tumi brief case Friday from the advice from fishbowl..
GT MBA (Management of Technology - similar to an MIS) worth it for a tech consultant that wants to stay tech focused, but didn't get a Stanford/MIT worthy GMAT?
Just sat next to Ben Carson on my flight out of Atlanta. Asked him are you scared bro cause you're sitting next to a Muslim? No response followed by a silent flight. Smh
Looking to create a tool we can use for stakeholder relationship tracking. We want to be able to hear a clients name, look them up in the tool, see info about their role and department, and see which of our consultants have worked with them before and on what projects. Trying to think of an easy to use, interactive tool beyond something like excel. What’s something you’ve used for this before? Don’t think we’ll be going as far as purchasing a license for a CRM software
Met with my boss today and was told “well you’re way better at your job than we expected...so keep doing that and just that. We might be able to have some more interesting work for you to do in 2-3 years”. Meanwhile...I am BORED TO TEARS!!!!!! And it’s tempting to quit, but I make more money than both of my parents combined EVER have, we had zero layoffs during COVID, and I really do love the people. At the end of the day...I guess I’m just hear to vent and to see if I’m the ONLY one.
It’s looking like I can deduct my EMBA tuition as a non-reimbursable business expense. Who has deducted their entire tuition while an employee? Were you Audited?
I just got a raise and want to start investing more in my skin/ hair! What are your favorite skin/hair treatments/ upgrades that have made a difference? Interested more in peels/ facials/ microneedling than filler at the moment.

Is it possible to get insurance at the same rate or better rate without being in corporate? Honestly started here for the insurance and investment benefits so want to know if there are other options!
I’ve been burned by the stock market before trading options (when the market bottomed out in 2016) and I learned my lesson on recklessly speculating on spikes and dips in the market. Anyone else feel like this situation is gonna create a class of retail investors who are over confident in the “ease” of timing the market, without doing an research, after all this dies down?
Peeps who have the Sloan interview - how are you approaching the extra essay question 2 that’s asking for a data slide in a professional context given all the NDAs we are under?
Does anyone know what typical work is like in PWC - Financial Education Services ? Asking for the position of an associate
What's a very memorable or engaging networking event you attended? What made it so great (could be something from pre covid times too or from the present new norm if virtual)!
I’ve been in industry before. Bounced back to consulting after realizing that it’s challenging working in an environment that appreciates mediocrity and nepotism (but hey, nepotism is everywhere). A very small % of my network seems to enjoy the move from consulting or IB into industry. Even one of my clients went back to consulting (as partner) after 10 years. Does anyone in this bowl who has made the move to industry actually like their new role? (assuming you’re still lingering here...)
Deloitte recruiter reached out to me for M&A Strategy and DD position. If I were to be offered and If I accepted the position, would I be in M&A, Strategy and Operations?

My sister is unvaccinated with no plans to get the vaccine. She is getting married this year, meaning lots of events. I am pregnant, high risk (CH mama from yesterday’s post), and can’t risk getting Covid again. What would you do? Do I ask her to get vaccinated for my/her future niece’s sake? If she doesn’t, should I sit out the wedding events?
