1. Don't call it Cali.
2. Wtf is the "Cali area". You know California is a state, right?
@D1 Dude, chill
SF is great. Have been here for two years and never had to travel outside the Bay Area. Depends on your interests and expertise though
LA is great. Taxes can be high and traffic can be a nightmare if you're coming back on Friday. I suggest living and flying out of OC, or live near the airport on the Westside if you're making 6 figs +
Plan on Sunday flights.
SF is 👍🏻 but make sure you get the correct salary adjustment or you're screwed
The SF office has one of the lower percentage of travelers as compared to other offices but to echo everyone else and the classic consulting answer it depends. That being said I've spent most of my time on a local client and am starting to really miss the Silicon Valley now while I travel
@TouchyTom Cali 🙂
Would you plan to do this within ACN? I was still on travelling projects in the Bay, but a lot of folks are local if they're in digital and/or CMT. Health as well!
Am SF based. Never had a local client in 5 years. Really depends on your practice.
People from other states call it that all the time. It's one of the signs that you're not from there originally
CMT
Ugh don't come here
It is hella expensive for no(t a) good (enough) reason
Cannot beat it. Went to school in LA and live in SF now after 10+ years abroad. I feel genuinely happy flying back in to SF, more so when I go anywhere else in the US. Weather, people and multiculturalism cannot be beat.
P1 Maybe SF, but not really the rest of the Bay. Yes, it's liberal, but not crucify conservatives/moderates level
Aye was referring mostly to SF/SJ. That's where I'd want to move (from LA) if not for that
@Ruddy Should have included Berkeley and Oakland (I would know, went to Berk). I was more talking about Hayward, Piedmont, Lafayette, Walnut Creek, etc.
Haven't had one non-west coast project from LA. If you lack a network and are on beach for a while, could def get stuck flying east tho
To those ACN folks SF based, what practice are you all in?
