I can’t get over how meaningless my life is. I feel stuck in a dark tunnel with no light at the end. I don’t know what I’m doing in life. It’s overwhelming and makes me cry over every little thing. Is it too much to ask for me to just be happy in life? I’m 26 but I feel like this is all life has to offer.

Has anyone ever been in a mostly platonic relationship? I don’t like to label myself much, but I don’t really like intimacy and don’t really like romance. Some people would say I’m asexual/aromantic, but unless that too is a spectrum, I don’t think I fit squarely into that group. As I get older, I’m realizing I’m feeling very lonely. I felt like a walking zombie during thanksgiving, barely eating and barely talking. My family is small and I told them ahead of time my relationship ended. I focused on my niece and nephews, cried when I wanted to and slept from 8pm-noon for the last 5 days. Showered once or twice. That’s the best I could do and that’s OK right now. Random confession: My husband has been in the US for 5 yrs & currently on his second consulting firm working as a Java Software Engineer. English is his second language and I am always amazed at how he conducts himself during meetings when he has to explain his technical work. Consulting can be hard and mentally draining at times. I’ve always been my own worst critic but watching him work from home during the pandemic has given me the motivation to always try my best and give myself grace.

I have a 5-year-old and we recently moved in with my boyfriend (40s, divorced, no kids). He’s trying, which I appreciate, but he has very little patience or tolerance for a rambunctious kid. I'm almost done with my master's and right now we are discussing the knowledge gap that happens in 4th grade with our lower-class students. People with dogs: how did you get your dog used to city life? My dog is almost a year and half now (having lived the past ~5 months in the city) and he is terrified of the city. We used to live in the suburbs so much more quiet and low key. The cars going by, sudden sounds, bikes/scooters are a huge stressor, but more than anything it’s people - if he sees anyone walking or around him he panics and tries to flee. I can’t afford to send him to an expensive dog trainer and don’t know what to do :/
