EY1 I’m not being sarcastic. It really is her fault. She should change her behavior. Everyone else shouldn’t have to change their behavior.
It’s definitely a problem and concern when we share space like the way we do here.
Put tape under her mouse
Thanks for being rude, K1. OP, I’ve been there, the sound of chewing just sets me off. Still figuring out how to calm my frustrations. Best advice: keep the headphones in and plug and chug. If you feel the annoyance boiling, take a walk to the bathroom to let it pass. Easier said than done, but nothing else you can really do
Yeah and it’s definitely HER fault. You should not have to alter your behavior, like put in headphones, to adjust for someone else being downright distracting and rude. People need to learn manners.
How can someone chew gum loudly ? Is she smacking gum like some 5 year-old, or do you become easily distracted ?
i’ve actually had the same problem... i had a manager that would put in 2-3 pieces at once and go through two packs a day.
i just had to use headphones religiously whenever we worked together. no other solution...
OP you use hoteling at PWC right? Can you move far enough away or is this at a client site?
Deloitte 1 talking about smacking it like pop pop pop. Yes 5 year old behavior in a professional firm!
I'm curious is this person less than professional in other ways or is it just this bad habit? These things rarely occur only once in people.
^Doesn’t really solve the problem. The problem is the loud gum chewing, not the people sitting in her vicinity.
