What's the salary range for a director at the Gilead Sciences foundation? There is a position perfect for me, but I don't want to throw my hat in the ring if starting salary isn't $180-190k. Also, any thoughts on the stability of their philanthropic commitment? There's talk of a recession; I don't want to go private to be cute a few months later.
Hoping to get in touch with #Peraton recruiter! I have about 9 months left in Air Force where I work in cyber defense and vulnerability management, have a BA in cybersecurity, sitting for CISSP and have lots of certs. Would love to chat with someone about opportunities. Hold a clearance and could technically start in 7 months. Any help is appreciated!! Thank you.

I worked in a call center for 4 years in the private sector. All of this is normal practice. We had to average a certain call time, quality percentage, and yes they also tracked bathroom breaks.
Government typically doesn't have this type of oversight but it is common practice in the private sector.
That's an unpleasant situation to find yourself in, but stuff like that has become more common. People are obsessed with data and with quantifying everything. If you've been building up an emergency fund that's good. You should hang on to the job you've got, but if you're really unhappy start looking for something better.
I don’t want to seem insensitive . but my wife works for a major healthcare company and everything you listed is something she has been doing for the past 14 years. I know you’re not used to it but that how they measure quality control and productivity. If she punches out for lunch 5 minutes late she didn’t qualify for any incentive and if it happens a couple times it’s out of adherence and can be written up. it just coming into the 21st century with the private sector. The fact that you need to see a therapist because you are being more closely monitored isn’t a good sign. It’s just change. I know it sucks but roll with the changes. You will get used to it.
ABSOLUTELY NOT— if your wife CHOSES to be micromanaged ever second of her day, that is a CHOICE!! No one wants to monitor a 3 minute window every two fucking hours!!! THAT IS BS AND ANYONE WHO TOLERATES THAT BS IS NOT BEING PAID WELL— NEVER TAKE THIS STILID ADVICE THAT YOU ARE AT THE MERCY OF YOUR EMPLOYER. THAT IS 1902 MENTALITY!! Not this century! Who is this guy talking down to like their out of their minds for NOT WANTING to work on a fucking ANT FARM!! Geeeeeeze!
Wow do you have an EAP program or any other that supports the personnel? I work for gov as well and they cover 12 sessions per issue…so if there is a specific issue and other issues it’s 12 per issue
I am sorryt o hear that. I have been in roles before where there is suddenly added anxiety like this. A therapist is definitely someone who can help you during this challenging time.
My therapist has been helping but i only have 2 sessions left that are covered. The role type isnt for me but i haven’t been able to get an offer in my ideal role. I could also return to my old flexible school gig but id need to buy marketplace health insurance.
Im hating my new govt job as well. They seem to be giving us three jobs in one. Everyone has to learn everyone else's jobs (we have scheduled online trainings in things higher ups deal with. WHY???) Am trying to get Out of there. I am already on Medicare. Yeah, I'm old and just started at a city job. I must be nuts. I'm looking for remote work, even boring stuff. Just need to make decent money and hope I can find something that's not stressful. Like date entry, content moderator, transcriptionist, or writer (yeah, there is one - just reworking a.i. stories to sound more human.) Good luck! I'm not enjoying the scheduled 15 mins breaks twice a day. Like can't I just go make a coffee when I want a coffee? or go to the bathroom without having to get someone to cover the phones for me...am spoiled from previous dirt-paying but relaxed old job.
Not spoiled to want to be treated like a damn human!
