I have this skill set of being physically present and mentally absent . I would take it if I can find 5 nights of PTO
It should be nearly free for such deal... I think
I did this sometime ago. I don't travel as much, so I don't have the kind of points to pull it off. Comparing it to a regular cash booking, it was an awesome deal. If I remember correctly, it also included an avis rental car (you have to pay taxes though) and a gift card. The timeshare took exactly 1.5 hours, and while you had to stay for the full time they didn't really pressure us or anything. We said no, and they were okay.
Yes where???
Never done something like this, but I’d definitely consider. How’d you get the offer? Did you sign up for something previously to get on their radar?
Look on FlyerTalk. Believe there is construction at the hotel and I’d avoid completely...
Done assorted timeshare pitches over the years. Some are very hard, rude, aggressive pitches, so stand form and just say NO at the end of the pitch
How to get these offers??
I would be really interested in knowing too
I did something similar. $299 for 5 nights at a westin in Cancun. The time share company that has the westin timeshares are not pushy in my experience. They just want a yes/no answer at the end of the session and they don’t have any issues if your answer is no
Where are you getting all these offers??
Marriott vacation club emails them out randomly. Not sure how I was targeted
for everyone asking how you get these offers, i found that i got a lot of them after staying at a marriott vacation club (i stayed at the one in nyc because they had cheap rates that week and it’s nicer than, say, a courtyard or fairfield). their logic is that if you stay at a vacation club, maybe you’d be interested in buying a timeshare. big miscalculation that you can use to your advantage.
