They will tell you to take the Capco offer. 99% sure. No one pays an extra $20k to retain an analyst/associate level resource. But hey, worth a shot. Got nothing to lose.
You could take the offer to your current employer and ask for a match
You could say adios and leave for this new company
You could do nothing
Interesting that ur making ~65k my guess is ur in audit
Gonna. I would take it. That's a really big raise %
Alternatively, you could stick out PwC a little longer and make an internal move to Advisory. PwC definitely has better brand value, and it doesn't look great to leave your first job (assumption) after just one year.
Take the offer. Pwc will never match when they have 2,000 applicants for 1 spot. You already got the pwc name on your resume
@D3 OP is at PwC, not Deloitte. Internal Audit is audit at PwC, and Advisory is the name of their Consulting function. They don't have 4 functions like we do; their Advisory teams members are compensated as management consultants.
Go to Capco. They are growing like crazy and rebranding. It’s a good time to join a growing firm
^^ agreed, I’d say take it in for a match. But I like where I work you probably been looking for a job. Just make sure you have it all finalized and good to go needs to be a firm offer.
In my experience they will not match that much of a bump, and even more so they will consider you a flight risk.
Are you in Audit? Low cost of living Associates start at 70. How could you be in the 60s?
Yeah I’m in the internal audit...that’s explains the low salary haha
Thanks for the advice SA 2
@deloitte2 advisory consultants don’t make more. Op is in internal audit, which is in advisory. The exception is cyber or analytics which get paid like BTA’s
I would stick around man, PwC has lots of opportunities that usually surface when you’re past your second year and at least acting like senior. You’ll make up the raise in a matter of 2 years maybe 3 which is a lot of time right now. But trust, the longer you stay the bigger the bump when you leave. At least from what I’ve seen. You may feel like you’ve learned a lot but there still a lot out there. Capco is definitely not as strong of a brand. All that said, it really boils to your long term goals. If you don’t know what those are, I suggest staying at least till you make senior before leaving the firm. You’ll have a better grip on what your opportunities look like then, far more than now. Just my $.02 :)
Also - I’ve seen IA folks go into advisory, deals and emerging tech within the firm. Really boils down to two things in my humble opinion
1) Will your RL and coach bat for you when you’re not in the room? (Its rare, specially at your level)
2) You figuring out where you wanna be in 10 years asap.
Good luck fam!
Here is the deal with Capco. Like any firm, your experience can be a hit or miss. It’s all about your alignment to the right leadership, account and even region. Teams outside of NY have been thriving but NY has been struggling. But there is A LOT of freedom to take risks and unorthodox styles are rewarded unlike at Big 4. It comes down to your preference. Some thrive at Capco and make lots of money. Some prefer Big 4 for its ‘structure’
Sounds like a CO grade level salary. Not sure how they are mentioning 10% bonus since our performance bonus payout is never a guarantee. So I would get that part in writing since they would have to honor it regardless of your performance score. Also we pay out our bonus in two stages April / Sept of the following year.
Thank you guys! Also you guys think it’s worth it? Switching from PwC to Capco....does the name brand matter that much?
I’m just debating the name brand comparison
