Got offers at Bain & McK, didn’t even get an interview at BCG (with a referral), the one I really wanted. Why is BCG recruiting so weird?

I have a LOT of credit card debt. It has just grown over time and I can’t find my way out. I’m considering debt consolidation, specifically a company called National Debt Relief which seems legit but I’m just so hesitant because I’m scared to make my situation worse. I got a referral from an EM over a month ago. He says my candidate status showed "turned down" immediately following the submission. He suspects it was because the status from my previous application to McKinsey over 2 years ago got pulled into the system automatically. Till now I still haven't received the application link and no recruiter has been assigned. Kind of lost about what to do next.
