GT 5 what level are you? I remember the feeling flowing through the company. Partners/directors then staff/seniors then managers. Curious where you are in that flow.

Director. I think you'll see differing opinions as some people blame PE when it's really either the culture of PA in general or the market that's the real negative driver. The main complaint I have is lack of communication but so far that's it.

I'm currently in the placement process to join an IB group. Personally, I am interested in Lev Finance/Financial Sponsors Group because of the opportunity to build skills and networks to transition to PE. However, I am split between M&A, TMT, and RE because they seem to be very active groups and sometimes recession-proof. I’ve been at my company for 10+ years. I’m not happy with the culture but have flexibility I enjoy, seniority for the time I’ve been here, and pays well. An new job opportunity came up as a Tax Manager but in a different industry which could expand my skillset in different ways, but is not as flexible and the pay is 20k lower.
