I’ve been told I’m getting promoted in January to an Account Supervisor and although I’m extremely grateful for the opportunity given the circumstances of 2020, I’ve been told it will be a few months before I see a raise. I’ve been with this agency for a collective 6 years but have had to boomerang to get a decent pay bump. Any tips on salary negotiation with the nuance of the hardships last year brought on us all and the ad industry?

Throughout my career, I have worked at both “traditional” and “digital” shops. My current agency would fall under traditional but also offers digital services. Anyone else finding it very difficult to get any enjoyment out of account management these days? Any coping tips? I feel like being an account person is especially difficult in the COVID era since so much of what we do is manage communications, ensure the team is set up well etc. None of this feels particularly fun alone staring into the void of Zoom all day ... but the same pressure is still there. I feel like I spend every week counting down to the weekend which kinda sucks.
